2013 Was Amazing Will 2014 Be Better? We Predict...

one_broken and I are back! Did you miss us and our predictions? If you did, have no fear. 2013 was a good year for Korean entertainment. There were many great dramas and new variety shows. There were many great albums released and many great groups debuting. Many great people joined the world of radio. What do we see for 2014?

Our crystal ball was looking quite cloudy for a good twenty minutes, but lucky for you fellow Omonazians, we see many things.

• Yunho and Jaejoong go to the army separately, but YunJae stans go extra crazy with how they will meet and “rekindle their love” while the rest of the world doesn’t care.


• Lunafly comes to Chicago and I meet leader Sam and have an awkward chat with lots of blushing back and forth.


• There will many world tours that are actual world tours.


• DBSK’s new album Tense is so amazing, Korea will recognize the legends that they are and give them the #1 they never got for Catch Me or Humanoids.

• It will Rain in Korea.


• 2ne1 will have a proper comeback and full album.


• Omona gets more amazing exclusives including a Kpop artist.


• The next scandal will involve an orange, Sam Carter, and a member of a girl group.


• The only member of 2ne1 to have a boyfriend is Minzy.


• We find out that SM has a secret underground facility to experiment and make the perfect idol from scratch.


• Taemin will endorse a new type of hair gel that catches on worldwide leaving everyone slightly confused. Is his hair glowing with sparkles? Yes, why yes it is.


• Girl groups will rule 2014.


• Omona will rule the Kpop world! After we get lunch of course.


• 2014 will be the year of weird pairings. We see you weird/rare ship shippers. We see you.


• A female Kpop group will land on international charts (that isn’t YG or SM).


• There will be at least five new groups in 2014, but no more than thirteen.


• There will be a group fall out of epic proportion, and the fandom becomes close with Cassiopeia.


• The world learns of SM’s time machine and their secret plans to rule time and space.


• Boxes, brick rooms, and fakes streets are no longer MV sets.


• Goo Hara and her bff open a shop that sells cute, fluffy things. It is a huge success, and in turn, B.A.P and Kiseop then get in on cute, fluffy shop game.


• BTS, Block B, VIXX, and Apink come to the US, and the Midwest isn’t forgotten.


• U-Kiss gets their long awaited anime with lots of Kevin being the nicest person alive, and special guest appearances of Xander, Kibum, and Dongho.


• Ren joins a drama where he plays a cross dresser. People start to forget he his a guy until bandmate Aron brings Ren on his radio show to set the record straight.


• JYPE officially falls out of the Big 3. JYP wonders around the woods in his sadness where he comes across his bestie YG in the middle of monitoring one of new groups that he insists will debut in the middle of the year. (Nobody believes him.) YG comforts JYP, and JYP composes a song and creates a dance on the spot for his bestie in thanks.

There are some amazing things in store for 2014, and we can't wait to see them come true! This year it is BYOCB or Bring Your Own Crystal Ball. It's okay if you don't have your own. one_broken and I will share with you because we're nice like that. So tell us Omonazians, what do you see in store in 2014 in Korean entertainment/Korea/Omona?

EXO will officially break Mirotic's record with their second full album and once again have the highest selling record of the year (beating TVXQ, Suju, and Big Bang)

Akdong Musician won't debut and neither will anyone else in YG other than WINNER

A Pink and Girl's Day will rise even further while After School, T-ara, and Secret will fall further into irrelevancy

VIXX, BTS, Block B, and B1A4 will continue to rise, and basically everything other boy group that debuted after 2010 have no real hope of ever being relevant (considering the 2014 rookie class)

God I hope so :3 We need some excitement in 2014 lol. and if omona is any reflection of international kpop fans, I highly doubt a girl group will ever be as popular as boy groups (a much as I wish that was the case).

So Ji Sub and AS Jooyeon announce their engagement (not a shoot-gun marriage!) Fans protest outside of J-tune / Mblaq's dorm.

Tiffany starts a fashion line with her Fashion King Korea partner. She's kind of everywhere randomly and just as annoying as ever. Her voice miraculously improves. Omona weeps. OP / me even moreso.

SM girl group debuts in October while prone to 'sexy' dancing will continue to have SMP performances / choreography. A good complement to Exo.

Omona will have lolzy sns interaction with Kris & Jonghyun (Shinee).

Taeyeon's relationship comes out (not Leetuek!). She's straight. A lot of fangirls weep. The majority of the under 13 fandom leaves causing a drought of genderbender fic. Bless.

A lot more use of the fandom freakout and omona exclusive tags! Hopefully in all good fun.

GD & TY do the same as they always do providing a lot of content for Omona.

BIGBANG will come back as five with a full album, then go on another world tour. (not a tour around asia with a dash of europe and north/south america).
I will see them in concert where i can die from TOP's flawlessness and continue to be embarassed by my bias GD but still love him......

*Exo, aka Grinch who stole SHINee's Christmas in 2013, will have zillion comebacks, while SHINee is put back on the basement/Japan.

*One or more from the members of Big Bang will have a scandal (the lack of scandals for my bias group in 2013 has to be rectified!). However, for Taeyang's great disappointment it won't be one of them becoming a daddy by accident, but something else juicy.

*A girl group member will get pregnant and marry

*Another creepy old male celeb - young girl group member pairing will see the light of the day

*Taeyang's album still won't see the light of the day... JK! ...I hope

*Winner will debut and EVERYONE, except maybe some bitter exo stans, will love them.

*Akdong Musician's album will be huge digital hit in Korea and will win the album of the year award in some award ceremony shocking all the international kpop fans who were expecting for their idol oppas/unnies to get it instead.

*Lee Hi will continue being YG's favourite princess and release a fabulous jazz album. She will also collab with Zion T.

*2NE1's album still won't be released leading to their world tour being major flop. (How I wish I was wrong with this one though!!!! Please YG, release the damn album!!!!) CL has had enough of YG's antics and goes for solo career in US leaving YG and 2NE1 to dust.

*Big Bang's album gets postponed 'till late November 'cause GD can't come up with a new hairdo he hasn't done before.
