Miss A’s Suzy, who this year starred in the MBC drama “Gu Family Book,” is receiving some harsh criticism for her behaviour during the 2013 MBC Drama Awards, especially while she was giving her acceptance speech for her Female High Excellence in Mini-series Award.

On this day, Suzy seemed to have lost her words during her acceeptance speech, and she is being especially criticized for having been distracted, unfocused, and for being too indifferent towards accepting her prize which brought unanimous criticism from both the audience and viewers.

i feel so sorry for her, you could tell that she totally panicked and was on the verge of tears. i think she understood that she wasn't actually deserving of the award and knew she was going to get a backlash as soon as she walked on that stage. i hope she gets some public speaking lessons though, it was really embarrassing to watch :(

Question: Do the thank-you speeches usually last this long? I don't watch the acting awards, so Idk. My only comparisons are Hollywood's Oscars and Golden Globes where you get a certain amount of time to talk before the music cuts you off.

I just feel really bad for her. I don't think she expected to win, especially when you have Go Hyun Jung and Jung Ryeo Won nominated in the same category. It's not her fault that she won, since that wasn't her decision. I agree with you, OP. I think she panicked over: 1) not having a speech ready; 2) the public reacting to her win; 3) herself feeling undeserving of the award.

she totally didn't deserve the award, she's such a bad and lifeless actress. but i do think they're being too harsh towards her, but on the one hand it's probably because of her overexposure too. when someone or something is popular, you either hate it or love it, you can't have mixed feelings about it. that + her winning over go hyunjung + her crappy speech was probably what brought this reaction. she'll be ok in the long run.

Although pretty much every other actor/actress in the room could have at least tried to smile when she won the award, she should have seriously focused a bit more, I mean everybody has their moments and all but, it's not like this wasn't a big deal, she should have at least prepared something in case she won.

honestly! the more i think about it, the more i get annoyed by the netizens (and the audience) reactions tbh.
it seems most of it has to do with her being 'undeserving' of the award, and a backlash from her popularity (neither which she has control over).
The only thing she did wrong was being sick and unprepared - give her a break.
