A drama about a group of college students who live in a boarding house located in Shinchon, run by Na Jung and her family, that houses students from all over the countryside who come to Seoul for college. It will cover the lives of college freshmen in 1994 as they learn to live in a big city and what the students will go through as they experience Seoul, the basketball tournament obsession, Seo Taiji and Kids, and other social issues that occurred in 1994.

Dramatic tension and suspense! We wouldn't be getting anywhere without it. Well T and NJ need closure. They need to talk about everything. NJ does seem to be looking at CB in a different light after the coffee scene. I would say they all have a chance.

Yeah, I would have to agree. With 1997 I knew it would be YJ from the beginning but this is hard, although with 2 episodes left there isn't much room to build CB's relationship, so I feel like Trash is going to be endgame.

Actually I think there is enough to build a relationship but it's going be executed really messy as usual. Many scenes with CB and NJ just left hanging since we don't know what happened afterwards. Trash does have a chance but I am not sure he is endgame.

I'm glad we get to see something about Na Jung that isn't related to love triangle, but not enough. We only have two more episodes and I still don't care with who she ends up. Show is still trying to be smart and trick me, meh..

Dad and Trash talk in the hospital made me cry and I still love all secondary characters. Everything had so much potential, I'm disappointed.

it was nice to see najung outside the love triangle but it feels like an afterthought and just not enough. i wish the show could give up on the mystery cause i think they turned everybody of from it, but the side characters are still great.

I don't know why I really liked these episodes no matter how heartbreaking they were. I felt like we were actually getting somewhere instead of having filler type episodes. I love the transitions into adulthood. Where everything is not as glamorous as it seems. Life is also an accumulation of our choices including missed opportunities.

I am happy for NJ's development. I feel like I can finally connect with her emotionally now. I am really proud of her leaving her family and taking that job abroad. I felt really sad for her and T when they had to postpone their wedding. It was her first real job too and she had to be away from her family in order to support them. I always thought that NJ lead a really sheltered life since she always had her parents and T with her all the time in Masan and Seoul. It was nice to see her make a decision on her own and willing to accept the reality that sometimes we don't get everything we want in life. We have to make sacrifices. I really bad for her and T when they broke up. I was willing to accept T as her husband after all it is her decision but if they were unable to maintain a LDR than how would they have a successful marriage? Marriage can't be built on that rocky foundation. Also Australia and SK have only a 2 hour time difference! If they both made efforts they could have made it work. But yet they didn't.

As for CB I am really impressed by him. He has a positive and optimistic outlook towards life. Given his tragic background and NJ's rejection he is still able to move forward and be positive. It is really amazing that he did not end up being a cynical individual given how life and fate has been really cruel to him. I didn't think I could love him anymore until episode 19 when he was re-confessed to NJ. It takes a lot of guts to put yourself out there once but twice! That's real courage. Especially when he has no way to know if she even feels anything more than friendship towards him. I think a lot of guys have pride which stop them from doing things that make them vulnerable. He is able to take anything that life throws at him without fear. I really love that about him.

NJ has a big decision to make. I have faith that she will make the right one for her. It is her story. I know we all have our preferences on who we would want. I am not saying that T would be a bad choice either it's harder for me to believe right now. Regardless of the decision she makes, it's great that she can have both T and CB in her life. If she had married T in the past she wouldn't have CB in her life. He would be gone forever.I stand by her and any decision she will make. I really need to see how she feels.

- I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE WHO SHE'S GONNA END UP WITH, HOW IT HAPPENS, AND WHY!
- at this point i don't really care about who na jeong marries because 1. i like both guys 2. in the future it shows that they're all friends anyway so i aint even mad 3. i dont really feel like getting butthurt about that, i'm just here for the story
- but it's a shame about na jeong and trash's LDR. her narration of "we are a special couple" to "we thought we were a special couple" + na jeong's dad telling trash how anxious he was about them because he didn't wanna lose trash just in case things went bad was really fascinating, sometimes people in relationships don't see how they affect the people around them especially in that family dynamic
- even though they played it really light-hearted i teared up at the scene with sung gyun and yoojin :') it's not the most romantic thing but i thought it was cool to see a different kind of proposal story
- i can't wait for it to be over though, this better be good

I'm actually happy the writers broke off Najung & Trash's engagement but maybe that's because I'm team Chilbong. I thought Chilbong's persistence was becoming off-putting but somehow I was glad he confessed for a third time. Also, can we talk about how precious he was in these two episodes. I never knew I'd miss Chilbong so much after he basically didn't have any screentime last week. I miss his puppy face. The Chilbong/Binggeurae scenes were adorable :3

I'm so glad that the writers decided to expand on Najung's character outside of the love triangle. It's nice to see her at work and fending for herself in a different country.

Now on to SCP/Yoonjin. I loved SCP's preproposal thing. It was sweet how he handed her all of his passbooks and promised to propose to her properly in the future ;u;

Also, can I just talk about how much I miss the Haetae/Najung/Yoonjin friendship?

Dude, the hate for NJ is appalling. I can't with all these people who think she needs to show some appropriate amount of sadness or moping to deserve Trash. Number one, people handle break-ups differently. Number two, she doesn't owe him shit. Number three, yeah, we see Trash suffering but he isn't really communicating anything to Najung.

I love Trash, but I hate that NJ, who is supposed to be our main character, is getting dragged through the mud by most netizens, on top of being underdeveloped by the writer.

While being with Trash would be the way to go within the narrative structure of the show, I honestly can't trust the writer to write rationally or what is in the best interest for the story. Its not that it is confusing, per se...I just think people are tired of being trolled and they don't know what the writer/producers are going to do next.

It was pretty obvious in 1997 because Siwon didn't show any interest in her Oppa, even when she was "dating him." Her feelings for Yoon Jae were realized over time. Also, I would say that Yoon Jae was as big a part of the show as Siwon, and often showed more insight to his character than Siwon did. It was just so obvious too, once she confessed and they got together, even though the gimmick was still being played out.

I think we can blame the popularity of the show for the mess that it is now. Since the drama is so popular, they decided to extend it just for the ratings sake and the storyline suffers because of that.

Actually, I kinda like the fact that writer these days are way less predictable than the past. Last time, I always know how a kdrama going to end and progress just by watching the first episode. But now, its less predictable and I love that excitement feeling when i watch something without really know how the writer going to end it. It makes the drama even more interesting. Like for this one for an instance, if they make Chilbong get Najung in the end, its going to be really awesome since its rare for second guys' feelings to be returned in KDRAMAS land..

I like unpredictability too, I just don't this was a good way to do it, hah. Yeah, probably, the popularity messed up the timing. I loathe when they extend dramas.

You know, I'm not against Na Jung being with Chilbong. I actually kind of want it at this point. But I wanted to see her struggle with attraction, with feelings, something more than just two years abroad and no contact. You know? Like if she had been corresponding by email or letters as well as growing apart from Oppa. Then it would feel right. I just don't believe her feelings for Chilbong would be at the same level or more than Oppa right now. Nothing has happened to grow the relationship.

If she chooses not to be with Oppa, then she could date Chilbong, but that's not as satisfactory as if she realized her feelings for him and could meet him at least half way. There just isn't enough tension for me. Does that make sense?
