Who remembers who Jazzy Group US is? It is the company that brought VIXX to the States this year. I am proud to announce they are bringing another group next year!

There is also Facebook and Twitter pages titled "Hallyu Con Chicago 2014," and they are helping out at the Chicago showcase.





So it seems that there are people planning a Hallyu convention in Chicago slated for sometime next year. I was extremely excited when I heard the news last week because, as a Chicagoan, I know we haven't had any Kpop events since the small Wonder Girls concert in 2009. I will keep everyone updated as soon as more details are released. Hallyu Con said, "hopefully dates, venues, and ticket sales [for the Boyfriend showcases] will be announced [in December]." It is also interesting to note that the Hallyu Con organizers tweeted this a few months ago:

So what ideas do you have Omona? Are there any artists you's like to see at the convention? Of course I'm trying to get Lunafly to come. (Leader Sam Carter said on his radio show that he thinks Lunafly has to be a part of the convention.) U-Kiss would also be amazing to have. I think it would be cool if there was a panel/Q&A for foreign idols (i.e idols that didn't grow up in Korea like Aliee, G.NA, Kevin, Eli, etc.) where they could talk about making it in the industry and give hope and tips to others who want to be idols. Of course there has to be music, variety show, and drama panels as well. A super amazing concert is a must! Official merch and fanclub booths and a costume contest would be cool.

Edit 1: I contacted the Hallyu Con organizers with the clip of Sam reading my message linking the Lunafly Facebook and the group's PD-nim and the ideas I have. This is what they had to say, "We are definitely looking for artists to come to Chicago to perform at the convention. And Seongheon Jeong [Lunafly's PD], we would love to get in contact with you by any chance. Thank you so much for mentioning Hallyu Con to Luna Fly! (:" They then went on to make a post with my video. I can hardly believe what is happening. I wonder what Sam will say when I tell him of this.

Edit 2: "We are definitely taking your ideas into consideration! And hopefully we can get U-KISS to come here as well. Again thank you so much for your input. It really means a lot to the workers of Hallyu Con Chicago." They really seem to like my ideas. Wow. This is all happening so fast. I'm shocked that the organizers are up at 1AM like me who is listening to Sam's radio show.

How did they do with VIXX? The writer in me is sure to give as full as a report as I can for all events even if I'm not a Best Friend and they'll things I won't know. That is saying I'm going to the Chicago showcase and convention. Fingers crossed that I'll be able to go.

Well, when the organizers were selling the VIXX tickets, they promised a fansign event for VIP ticket holders...however, 1 or 2 day before the Dallas showcase, they announced that VIXX's management Jellyfish never agreed to a fansign...which I thought was such a cheat. Not Jellyfish's fault...but they shouldn't advertise something they never confirmed.

And then the LA showcase was a complete mess...but that was mostly United KPOP's fault.

Anyway, people were saying that Jazzy is ok. It's still worth to go if you are a Best Friend!

I'd recommend sending the organizers a message on Facebook since they seem pretty open to ideas and told me they're talking all my ideas into consideration.

Oh The Boss. I was just listening to them this morning on the Arirang Radio show Super Kpop. Karam was funy with all his English. If you want them to go to the con, why don't you head over to the Hallyu Con Chicago 2014 Facebook page and let organizers know in the post where they're asking which groups we want to come.

Nah, all you need is me. lol The staff is really big on connecting with fans and making this the best con for them, so I'm expecting great things for this convention.
