YG Entertainment will not be represented at this year’s MBC Gayo Daejun.

A representative of MBC’s variety show department revealed, “YG Entertainment’s artists will not attend the 2013 MBC Gayo Daejun held on December 31. Currently we expect to see no performances from artists of YG.” Last year, YG artists attended the year-end festival for the first time in four years. 2NE1, Big Bang, Epik High and Lee Hi collaborated for various special stages, and world star PSY greeted the viewers with a friendly video message. This announcement must thus come as a surprise to many, especially those who were hoping to see YG and MBC strengthen their relationship this year.

YG Entertainment is currently discussing the year-end festival issue with KBS, and while the broadcast station has invited YG artists to the show, the chances of them attending are not looking too good. As always, YG has confirmed their artists’ appearance at the 2013 SBS Gayo Daejun, and a special stage by two strong and sexy females, CL of 2NE1 and Lee Hyori, is gaining a lot of attention.

2013 KBS Gayo Daejun will be held on December 27, followed by 2013 SBS Gayo Daejun on December 29, and the year will be wrapped up by 2013 MBC Gayo Daejun on December 31.

Why is YG so hated? Or is it the other way around .-.

YG's not really hated (well, maybe just by KBS lol)--they just have an extreme vested interest in SBS to the point where they honestly can afford not to care about anyone else. They have huge stakeholds in SBS and vice versa.

Are we talking stock or just close friendships???!

Damn. Well, that escalated.
This explains a lot. I always gave there relationship the benefit of the doubt. But stocks are serious shit. How am I supposed to ever take a YG inkigayo win seriously?

Haha it's ok! YG artists are still massively popular for the most part so I think their wins would still be legit. It just bugs me I have to watch them only on Inkigayo now since it's my least fave music program (the mics suck and the stage lighting is always too low).

YG hates some XXBANK PDs (very long history right there), MBC is a casualty (they come when they feel like it) and they're practically married to SBS and are having an affair with MNET.

more like yg hates everyone that isn't sbs or mnet
(but i don't think mbc is too happy about his decision of not sending his groups to their gayo lol)

YG not doing something w/ someone who isn't SBS? Shock.

Really though it's more newsworthy when they DO choose to be on a different network.

So that means I only have to watch the SBS gayo.
I kid I kid.. I usually watch the clips of people I like and if there are collabo stages on all 3.

I think SBS usually has the better one then MBC then KBS. I can't remember if it was last year or year before, but I remember there was recent MBC gayo with more inter-company group stages. The inter-company stages would make these shows more exciting since most of these performances at the gayos are some fail remix with the idols doing the same damn choreo that doesn't really match the remix since it was made for the original.

Star dance battle needs a comeback. Even though that wasn't inter-company stages, the choreo was actually different and the groups danced to other artists songs instead of their own. That was the only show I watched during the holiday broadcasts since I really don't care about the idol sports one. I never watch that, just look at gifs/fancams people post of the idols hanging out near the track.

I hear you about inter-company stages. Even though quite a few of those are hit and miss, some are real gems like 2008's glorious Wonder Boys and Wonderbang or 2009's amazing Change stage.

I liked MBC's gayo last year better actually. SBS's was flashier and had those great songwriter collaboration stages, but the energy was higher at MBC's.

Ah whyy. SBS' a given but MBC has had some pretty good stages before.

YG artists' real schedule:

During KBS Gayo Daejun- Time for yearly YG Family skiing trip!

During MBC Gayo - It's New Year's Eve! Let's get shitfaced and party like there is no tomorrow!

The irony though...up until 2006 when Big Bang appeared on Xman, YG boycotted SBS and SBS Gayo Daejun lol

Judging by the crappy ass quality of MBC's gayo last year, I'd say it's for the best.

I think I must have watched a different awards show from you guys, because I loved MBC Gayo. I still watch clips from it, like BTOB's stage and the SHINee/f(x) stage.
