HYOLYN covers "Show Me How You Burlesque" & Would Rather be called Pretty than Sexy

Sistar’s Hyolyn revealed her realization that looks are important to a woman.

Hyolyn appeared on the December 6 episode of KBS 2TV’s “Yoo Hee Yeol’s Sketchbook.”

In between performances, emcee Yoo Hee Yeol posed several questions to Hyolyn. One of them was, “What are the differences between Sistar’s activities and your solo activities?” Hyolyn replied, “During Sistar’s performances, there are a lot of pretty faces to catch the audience’s attention, but during solo performances, it’s quite burdensome because it’s just me. There’s nowhere to hide.”

They also did a truth test where Hyolyn was asked, “Would you rather hear that you are pretty rather than sexy?” She answered, “I prefer hearing that I am pretty. I’ve learned that it’s all about being pretty. There’s no need for sexy and cute. It’s nice to be pretty.”

Talking about the crab dance in “One Way Love,” Hyolyn disclosed that, “I think it’s a bit much too. But I didn’t know I would receive this much criticism. My confidence has fallen.”

Seriously all of these interviews are pretty depressing. TT.TT  Hyo should let some of Bora's IDGAF-ness rub off on her.
She still killed her cover though. Also her performance of Closer was amazing, check it.

Awwwww bb. Idk why but I feel really protective towards her. An ex schoolmate of mine tweeted that Hyorin looked really ugly now and I'm just like ~_~ I can't help but think it's comments like these that make her seem ~fierce and stuck up since she probably keeps her guard up to appear confident. Or maybe I'm reading too much into it.

The Show Me How You Burlesque cover makes me sad because it's what I envisioned Give It To Me to be but alas. She sounded great in Closer ♥

You need to go talk to CL about just being yourself during solo promotions regardless of the haters

Why CL? I think the comments during her solo are really similar plus her non scandal over her outfits (that she's worn since debut) but her reaction to them was really different from Hyolyn's.

I agree. I'm sure CL's gotten some down moments herself but the difference is that she owns it, whatever she's doing (or at least tries really hard to). I've never thought Hyorin's pretty but imo she should just embrace her innate sexiness.

OT but CL wore those suits since Fire but she's always worn them with pants before in broadcasts. Of course, I don't think it's a big deal because she wore a coat over it for her solo but...yeah.

Prettiness is also an art, it's just that most people misuse the word nowadays. You shouldn't need makeup or plastic surgery to be pretty, it's a natural type of beauty and it's hard to maintain. Think of it like how a 7 yr old can be called a "pretty little girl", but then she's just "ok" by the time she's sixteen.

Hyolyn is the prettiest Sistar to me. I also think it's really great that she looks different from her backup dancers; the differences make her pop and make it clear that she's the star.
