Han Hyo Joo Blackmailed by Ex-Manager with Private Photos

Hoping to earn a few bucks, the ex-manager of Han Hyo Joo has turned to blackmailing with private photos of the actress and her boyfriend.

According to the Prosecution Office on November 25, Han Hyo Joo’s ex-manager and two others took 16 photos from Han Hyo Joo’s digital camera, supposedly containing photos of her and her boyfriend. The group then sent two photos to Han Hyo Joo’s father and threatened him to pay up on November 4.



“We have 20 photos of your daughter’s private life. We want 20,000,000 won for each picture, so 400,000,000 won total. If you don’t give it to us, we will send them to the reporters.”

According to the prosecution, the father sent 10,000,000 won for the original photos with the promise to send the rest of the money. The prosecutors then traced the call and caught up with the criminals, arresting them on November 7.

BH Entertainment released an official statement saying, “Han Hyo Joo’s father went straight to Han Hyo Joo to check and she said that she has never done anything that could cause a problem. Realizing that this was such a simple blackmail using Han Hyo Joo’s fame as an excuse, the family decided it must be firmly take care of and reported the blackmail to the police immediately.”

The prosecutors advised the father to send the money as part of the investigation.

The statement continued, “As Han Hyo Joo has done nothing to receive criticism, she has actively participated in the investigation and the arrest of the criminals. We will be taking strong action against these threats.”

The prosecution revealed that the criminals didn’t have any particular photos that could potentially ruin Han Hyo Joo’s career.
