I think it's awesome that they have opened up registration for Foreigners! The shipping to America was pretty steep, but fan club goods are normally pretty cute, and if there's any chance you'll be making it to Korea next year it might be a good idea to sign up ^_^ Hopefully other companies will start taking notice and start allowing other international K-Pop fans to officially register for fan clubs! Are you an official member of any fan clubs?

Lawd, if it were 2009 I'd join instantly but now I'm too lazy to go through this hassle.
Though when 2NE1 opened their official fanclub for Blackjacks outside of Korea, I was tempted to join but backed out b/c of ridiculous high fees.

But I never understood, once you join the official fanclub and paid the fees, do you have to renew your membership or once a fanclub member, forever a fanclub member lol?

I *think* you have to re-enlist every enrollment period but I could be wrong.

Yup it's an every year kind of thing. If you're a fan that lives in/near Seoul it's somewhat worth it for the priority of getting into music shows and stuff. However, I don't leave close and still haven't gone to a music show. It is nice to have concert priority and being able to get into fan meetings though.

Regarding OP's question: I was a VIP for a while, but when I moved back to the US, I realized there was absolutely no point in me giving BB money every year for benefits I couldn't participate in...

Did they open VIP membership for foreigners? I'm also a Papitus member (Kim Jong Kook) ^_^ I'm planning on moving to Korea in May/June though so I'm hoping to get some use out these memberships. Did you get to go to any fanclub events when you were a VIP?

Fortunately, I was a Japan VIP, so there were no limitations. I'm trying to remember if I had to submit my alien registration number or anything like that, but I don't think so. I think Korea is way more strict with joining fanclubs :T

There were no benefits and no events! Being a Japanese VIP was like being the red-headed step-child of YG. There were no events…We got preference for concerts…special news, videos and photos and other digital goodies…And made towels, wristbands, and shit. It was a sad existence, but I was still really excited.

I was also part of Jang Geun Suk's fanclub lol OTL Me and every other auntie in Japan, lol. There were events, but I couldn't even go *siiiiiIIIIIGGGGhhhh*

How did you get into KJK's club? Is that also open to foreigners? And congrats (in advance) on your move! That's exciting. Live the dream for all of us who will be left in Omona!

LOL I would TOTALLY join Geun Suk's fanclub!! My Mom stans him so hard.

KJK's fanclub had open registration last enrollment period through interpark. Any foreigners could join! The goodies I got in the mail were SUPER cute!!

basically half the album. my favorite tracks are not fast-paced, some of them kind of remind me of sade (not too much though, i don't really have a better frame of reference). i thought it was interesting that a kpop group would go the opposite of what's trendy so i decided to shift my perspective a little bit.

I wish there was a special digital or lite package. Same price but we only get our ID card and digital items so you don't have to pay +$50 to have the items mailed.
The only fanclub I was allowed to join And could afford was DMTN/Dalmates, and then.... well you know what happen there.

i got interested for a second until I read the actual print...unless your a foreigner with an alien card that membership won't do you any good when it comes to broadcasting music shows and events since ppl who reside outside of Korea HAVE to go silver and yet you still pay the same amount...I liked it much better when it was hottest 3rd...all the fans were treated equally

I'm a member of 1st Starlight, VIXX's first gen. official fan club. To join was steep (club membership, shipping + $45 wire-transfer fee but hey, it's VIXX. Anything for VIXX right? *nervous giggle* Anyway, I joined more for the symbolic gesture of supporting them because heck, no benefits since I'm not in SK. But the little merch package was cute. IHF VIXX official merch especially since there's hardly any! Right now, my understanding is that the benefits are equal for everyone as long as you're a member. It would really suck if when I re-upped they changed it, and that would be the year I'd actually get to travel to SK. Cross that bridge when I get to it tho. For now, "YAY! I'm a 1st Starlight!"

This'll be my... 3rd (?) year as a Hottest. I joined IAM last year too. I probably would've joined Blackjacks had I known when you can join.

I haven't made much use of my memberships. 2PM a little bit for concert priority and a fan meeting. Haven't been able to line my schedule up with 2AM stuff. (.__.)

I'm so not into kpop although I like to look for new mv of my favs. I still think I'm a hottest ;) so maybe I will get this... but I need some more good music from 2pm. I bought grown but I wasn't impressed by it
