Despite everyone’s doubts due to such an elaborate story, it turns out that YMC Entertainment was telling the truth about Ailee’s situation in 2009.

On November 23, a Korean-American news outlet reported that Ailee did in fact request a formal investigation after getting scammed in 2009 to the Palisades Park Police in New Jersey.

The police report included Ailee’s name, current address at the time, and birthday.

According to the police report, Ailee was chatting with a friend on Facebook at around 3-6 AM on August 7, 2009. When her friend recommended that Ailee send 50 nude photos to a third party, Ailee complied. She later found out someone had hacked into her friend’s Facebook account.

YMC Entertainment also stated, “Ailee did report the lingerie scam to the police in 2009. We have records of the investigation and confirmation. We are currently working with a lawyer in the US to take legal action.

Meanwhile, Ailee participated in the We Are One – We Are Companions concert on November 24, which celebrated people from Indonesia currently working in Korea. She received a Minister’s Award from the vice-minister from the Ministry of Culture, Sports, and Tourism.

This is probably just a summary of what happened. Not the full story of how her friend's hacker convinced her to send the pics. Either way, whether it was a smart choice or the hacker was very manipulative it doesn’t matter. Ailee IS a victim and now everyone who didn't believe can stop calling it a company excuse.

We all make mistakes and think an idea is FANTASTIC at one point only later to realize it was really ridiculous. It's a human thing to do. I never doubted this was a fake story

Allow me to point out I was a believer

Because that would be WAY too easy of a lie to prove false amd those scams happen all the time

Yes, me too
And the company wouldn't have invented something like that while taking legal action, it wouldn't have made sense.

Yay, now people can finally shut the fuck up.

Or more like will go the route of calling Ailee stupid.

too late. :(

honestly, though, it happens because there's really not enough knowledge to tell the difference between a scam and the real thing. i just don't understand the victim blame-y attitude anyway.

I'm glad majority of her fans are on her side...supporting during the live awards and stuff. She IS the victim here. Even years have passed, she's still a victim.

Instead of shaming Ailee for her bad judgement, journalists need to raise awareness because this is something that happens all over the world. The structure of their idol system is perfect for predators.

Glad its been put in the clear that that's really what happened. Now people can stop saying the story was fake.

I admit to not believing the story. There was no proof to back it up at the time and with companies notoriously lying to back up their artists in times of scandal, I was skeptical that it was the truth even though I know these things happen. It's good that it can be proven and hopefully better for her case as well.

mte, I was also skeptical of that story . I'm sorry because it really happened to her because it's awful and I hope her case actually gets solved.

I always figured it was a 50/50 chance it was true. Young naive women get taken advantage of everyday, it's nothing new. I'm proud of Ailee for filing a police report after getting scammed though. I think a lot of people would have been too embarrassed to admit what happened to them, but she did the right thing.

modelling scams are insanely common because they're insanely easy to run - the girls who are victims are almost always young and with no prior experience, but more importantly few people outside the modelling industry really know how it works, and it's an incredibly small industry to begin with. when you're young and someone is flattering you about your appearance and you have NO way to gauge what a "real" casting should look like, someone is gonna consider you a soft target.

I feel terrible for ailee - she has been serially exploited now - and I really hope someone is held accountable for that.

i honestly can't see why anyone would not have believed her. i mean scams like this happen all the fucking time, it's disgusting and ridic tbh. either way i'm glad this scandal doesn't seem to be stopping her from shit

Sad that they had to confirm it but I hope people can focus on the REAL issue now.

And let me just say, if she wanted to take naked pics of herself and sent them to a boyfriend (someone she thought she could trust), there is NOTHING wrong about that and she still doesn't 'deserve it' either. Stop that shit

Glad it is proven, I don't understand why people were so quick to dismiss it though, scams like this happen all the time and YMC could've easily got caught lying about this so it would've been too risky. Also it's good that they actually talked to Ailee to get the information rather than just lying to cover up this so props to them.

I hope people understand that Ailee is a complete victim in all this from the actual scam to the douche that leaked them, she has done nothing wrong at all in all this and I hope she keeps her head held high and continues to move up in her career :)

ugh thank you and tsk tsk to everybody who called the agency idiotic for making up stuff.

also no judgment on what she's done or trouble she's gotten into because you don't have any authority on that.

drag those non-believers. these type of scams happen all the time, she was young and some girls would really do anything to get what they want. I feel bad that ailee was tricked

Sad that they had to go to such lengths to prove all of this. I mean, yes I understand a lot of people saying she was dumb to even send the photo's, because in a way that is true just because 101 of internet safety is not to send such pictures over the internet to anyone. The internet is a very scary place if you are not careful, unfortunately she was not careful and got scammed into all of this.

I think this case should be used to raise awareness about these types of scams. It happened to someone famous, but it happens to lots of others too. I hope that this does help to combat such scams in the future for everyone's sake.

Seems like Ailee is going to keep her head held high and I'm proud of her for that. This isn't something easy to remain in the public during and I applaud her for that.

Hopefully the trial will go well and whoever leaked the photos will get what is coming to them.

lol, some of the people who where going around the original statement post claiming this was a load of bull are avoiding these confirmation post like the plague. psh

I also thought it was a 50/50, I was more inclined to believe their statement because if they lied it wouldn't have helped the suing and what not.
