Struggling so hard with this drama. I love Lee Dong-gun and Yonghwa is gorgeous, but I find myself tuning out a lot while watching.

Anyone else feel the same? Please tell me it's only 16 episodes. It's probably 20 though.

The romance is SO dead! There's none. Lots of pretty and that's it. It's frustrating. I haven't felt like this for a drama since Big.

One of my favourite movies is Peggy Sue Got Married, so I was really looking forward to this, and I really wanted to like it.

Just my opinion, so this could be really biased, but I felt the reason it failed was because they completely ignored the awesome chemistry, development of Mirae and Seju. I'm not one for giving into fans demands etc but in this case it wasn't so much desire by audience but something that happened naturally. It was right there on the screen to see. It just would have made so much more sense and when you saw that they were just going to throw away something they hadn't expected or travelling towards in terms of plot, instead of using an opportunity that the live system gives writers, they decided to bury their heads in the sand. Unfortunately the audience can't do that and just lament over the missed opportunity. Everything now just feels forced and tacky.

On the upshot...Yong hwa has been awesome and it's wonderful to see him progress as an actor, holding his own against Yoon Eun Hye, which was needlessly worried about. Kind of makes me wonder how he would have been as Choi Young Do, though Kim Woo Bin has been killing it in that role but still just curious.

THIS THIS THIS.

I'm actually not a fan of YEH, but Yonghwa has great chemistry with her. I also feel the ages of these characters are all over the place. And it is not because of the future storyline.

You bring up another thing. Yonghwa as Young Do. I don't know if he could pull it off, but I would love to see him try in the future.

Yay, thanks for agreeing with me because I started thinking that maybe my 'fondness' for Yong hwa had clouded my judgement but seriously it would have just been so much cooler if they acknowledged that maybe what they didn't see coming, planned on happening occurred and just rolled with it. *sigh* well they better have an awesome and profound message if they want to rescue what's left of it.

Agreed. I don't think he could do better than Woo bin, who stole the show in that other currently airing disaster but just noting his huge improvement from Heartstrings, something I didn't envisage, I'm thinking that maybe I've underestimated him and that there's a lot more to come. I'd definitely like to see him try something darker. Yay, all round!

I love that Heirs is a disaster, though. It's actually is easy to follow. And the cast is surprisingly good for that campy crap.

I believe Krystal and Minhyuk are ruining me.

Ah yes I didn't mean to judge. I just meant disaster in failed expectations kind of way, though I've bailed on that one, so I can't say much on it except that it did pleasantly surprised me in unexpected ways too. Just like Yong Hwa in this one.

I guess I'm just so disappointed in the failed potential of it all. It irks me because just a few additions, minor changes, it could be something worthwhile but I guess it's about reference points, and I'm not one. Maybe its low ratings have something to do with it, so they just going to run the course. I've noted that in my experience ones that have higher ratings tend to listen to audience more, I guess they have more to lose?!?!

I think one of the reason why i can't root for YEH-LDG is due to the fact that YEH has great chemistry with Yonghwa on and off screen
and LDG's character is such a turn off.his flaws overshadowed his good sides

LDG is still doing well with the shit cards he's been dealt. It's sad that he's been essentially Gong Yoo'd (I'm just going to call actor's 1st disaster drama from military that from now on).

Well...we know something VERY bad, even worse than the loss of their child, happened in the future considering how Shin is acting

This drama pissed me off so I decided to go back and re-watch Sweet 18 for the first time since 2004. I needed to get a good and proper Lee Dong Gun fix ♥ He's so beautiful in that drama. So perfect. He needs to get back those cheeks. And that drama is still awesome, re-watching it almost 10 years later hasn't tarnished my memory of it so yeah.

Anyway to stay on topic, I've stopped watching and I'm just reading recaps now. I don't even care about the who & what anymore. Se Joo doesn't deserve Yoo Kyung. May she rise to the top and accomplish everything she wants and continue being flawless away from him.

Same! All I could think when I first watch this drama is for the fact that I want to watch a sweet drama like Sweet 18 again. Plus, the fact that Han Jihye didn't annoyed me as much as Yoon Eunhye is part of the reasons..

Agreed on Yookyung. She's soooo amazing. The blind Sejoo didn't deserve her AT ALL. :(

I don't even mind that he doesn't love her because that's just how it is you can't force that but I just don't like his character. He's a douche disguised as a nice guy.

I was re-watching Sweet 18 over the last couple of weeks too!! That was such a great, fun drama ^____^ one of those that never really gets old!

I am still persevering with this one despite it being a bit annoying, I enjoyed the storyline of Mi Rae going undercover enough that it persuaded me not to give up ;)

mte I don't want them together anymore. He's an idiot who thinks he deserves Mirae's love bc he was there first. YK is better off without him.

Something I noticed is that despite Future Mirae trying her best to stop it everyone still ended up falling for their intended partners. Everyone but him..

i really like this drama, but i hated how thirsty mi rae seemed, even though it wasn't really her fault. i also hate every outfit mi rae has worn. who...what... why is she dressing like this????

i feel bad for yoo kyung although i'm still not sure who i'm rooting for.

she wore this tartan 2-piece once but the bottom are SHORTS and isn't she supposed to be 32??

it's like she's competing for the title of shitty dresser with Taeyang from The Master's Sun

i am rooting for yoo kyung to rule the world on her own and get better taste than se joo ugh

still loving this drama. i've only watched 8 episodes so far though. i really like yookyung. i just want her and sejoo together cause they'd probably be super adorable. but on the other hand i want yookyung to learn she doesn't need a man for anything and to start saying no to doing cute/sexy stuff for a guy so she can get a job. but this is one of my favorite dramas right now.

This drama had so much potential, but it's so boring right now, only saving grace is Yoo kyung.

Didn't like the drama now as the story progressed. Me & my sister legit 'huh!!!!??111' when Mirae write the ending for the fake liquur story. 'Hope???!!!' It was terrible and I hated how everyone thought its the best thing ever in the drama. >.> Please Ms. Writer, who are you targeting this drama for? 12 years olds?

I liked the overall storyline of the fake alcohol story but yeah that so called hopeful ending was so flat...I thought there would be something about the ahjumma working there to give a future to her son and how she risked everything to help Mi Rae

+1

That woman was really brave and it really would have made a better story for their hope theme.

That is my thought since they bring the ajumma into the picture but no, she didnt use that. Even her Christmas narration is very boring & flat. I mean, we have a real writer writing this stuffs right? Why it feel so immature? I used to be amazed with Kdramas script but now I think the quality has dropped to the ground with all the cheesy and unreal conversations. :((
