I mean... if they were winning for WOLF I would understand the fury, cuz we all know Wolf is not a very good song. I mean, I can't wait to see it live at an SMTown concert because I want to laugh my ass off when they do that howl motion in front of me, but that's just because that shit is hilarious.

Growl, on the other hand, is poppy gold. And, if memory serves, isn't it like the most successful song of the year?

This will not be a popular view, but before Growl, I would have agreed with neitzens 100%. I'm not an EXO stan, and "Mama," "Wolf" etc., plus their performances all made me wonder what all the Exo stans saw in Exo. I loved "What is Love," but that was the exception.

Then 'Growl" came. MV, song, choreography, yep, gold. So much so I listened to their album. More gold there. I watched them on Weekly Idol, then live performances.

But one good album, some great songs do not make a great group, and the other contenders all have more mainstream recognition, experience, or albums under their belts.

I've already predicted that k-netizens would talk shit about MAMA 2013, especially because EXO won one of the daesangs. I thought they were also going to curse at rain's performance, but maybe that's only because he wasn't mentioned in the articles above.
XOXO repackaged or growl is actually a good album IMO. k-netizens just love to throw hate comments about EXO. *shakes my head*

Thing is that he worked hard extremely succesfully. I doubt they would be ready to give him all those prizes if he didn't do that well.

I mean Korea really really liked GD's album. It's #2 best selling album digitally this year:

And his "love line" with Hyungdon in Infinite Challenge has also won lots of hearts among public for him. Plus his song in Infinite Challenge song sold 2nd most (and most if we cut out the sales of Primary's plagiarized #1 song). And he toured successfully from Jan-August first with Big Bang and then as solo (and on those tours he had four solo concerts in Korea and three with Big Bang). He also has bunch of CFs and his album got some attention even outside Asia. So for Koreans he did well with music, variety, CFs, touring, and Hallyu. So it's no wonder that they would probably give him all the prizes if they could.

Eh. EXO won for Album of the Year, which isn't really surprising and makes so much sense considering their album really did so well and sold so much. Isn't a sales a huge chunk of the criteria for it? Then EXO won it fair and square. Yeah, they're not on the same ~level~ as Cho Yongpil and GD, but to they deserve to win that award considering they fit all the criteria for it.



But yup, EXO lipsyincing last night was disappointing, but at the same time, the mics were shitty for those who did sing live, so I suppose their performance didn't have to suffer due to that.
