2NE1, with members CL, DARA, BOM and MINZY, thanked their boss (the founder of YG Entertainment) in the midst of their knocking down of music charts with their new song.

At 0 hour of Nov 21, 2NE1 unveiled their new song ‘Missing You’ through various music websites in and outside of South Korea.

In the short 13 hours of its release, the song already ranks the top in South Korean major music websites (1 p.m.). ‘Missing You’ successfully swept across real-time music charts on 9 major music websites including Melon, Olleh Music, Mnet, Bugs, Soribada, Monkey 3, Naver Music, Cyworld Music and Daum Music.

So how do they feel about this sensational news?

According to what YG’s high-level personnel told Star News in the afternoon, the four members have been deeply impressed by the ranking of ‘Missing You,’ enjoying the moment in Hong Kong.

The personnel added, “All 2NE1 members sent Yang Hyun Suk in Korea text messages of joy after hearing the news about ‘Missing You’ knocking down all charts in the very early morning in Hong Kong.

He added, “And among all of them, Yang Hyun Suk was most impressed by BOM’s message that read, ‘Boss, we ranked #1. Thank you so much for letting us sing,’ which was a genuinely written text.”

Meanwhile, ‘Missing You’ is showing an impressive record overseas as well, by ranking in the top 200 of American iTunes at 1:35p.m., in the country with the largest pop music market in the world. The song was ranked #133 in the Top Single Songs category of America’s iTunes. At the same time in Vietnam and Taiwan, ‘Missing You’ has ranked #1 in both iTunes Top Single Songs charts. This is a clear testament to 2NE1’s popularity in and outside of Korea, even more emphasized with the release of their new song.

2NE1 flew to Hong Kong on Nov 20, and in the afternoon of Nov 21, they will be holding a press conference with Chinese press about their new song and the details of the World Tour. 2NE1’s World Tour kicks off next March, starting from Seoul and relaying on to China, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia and Japan.

On Nov 22, 2NE1 will be showcasing ‘Missing You’ for the first time at the 2013 Mnet Asian Music Award (MAMA) in Hong Kong. MAMA is an end-of-year music award ceremony hosted by Mnet, a South Korean music program.

So nice of him to let his singers sing
This and the Winner article makes it look weird, is he trying to win some "nice CEO of the year" award?

i always wonder why Yang hyun suk gets so much hate here when we all know that there is other CEO's that are much worse

Because he's always saying promises and how great his company is for the artists inside
Plus he's speaking to the medias and showing himself, which doesn't happen with SM, I guess it makes him more "appealing" for criticism

he breaks promises in general and plays with my emotions
i used to ride so hard for YG until the hype for Big Bang (as a band) and 2NE1 stopped
THEN THE DARK AGES HAPPENED

-why does taeyang look like that what is happening
-another mini album from GD? what about TOP?
-ok so when is this girl group coming out
-where is 2NE1
-WINNER

Hahaha bb I feel you
But even before. Gummy forgotten for ages. K.Will looking so much better outside YG. Lexy and Kim Ji Eun leaving and now gone forever (?). I had doubts. I think there is a real lack of management in YG, because otherwise, artists does have some space to compose themselves (GD is not the only example, take a look at Seungri, and I think TOP was too busy filming to release anything before, but I wished he would do now that Doom Dada is released).
Winner, at least, is performing with BIG BANG in Japan. I think that's a great move. And I have the feeling YG is waiting January, so they can record the songs, and be a 2014 rookie... But yeah they need to come back fast if they don't want to be forgotten.
The girl group is not going to happen...
2NE1... lol let's not start this subject I could go on forever

I'm not familiar with other CEO's so maybe they're all horrible. But Yang Hyun Suk has always come across as creepy to me and the way he handles his artists doesn't seem healthy either. It's like he criticises them ten times and then the eleventh he praises them a little which makes them eternally grateful. Some of the stuff he's said though -- like calling gd the root of evil during his scandal, what the heck. And then gd saying he's grateful because it keeps him on track. idk I can't judge of course but from where I'm sitting it all seems weird.

for me it's this 'i'm such a nice ceo, i love and care for everyone in yg, we're so different from other idols, we're real musicians' bs he comes out with. he is not supportive of his own groups, particularly 2ne1. he doesn't seem to know what he's doing. he never sticks to any plans he announces with great fanfare to the public/media. so to me it makes sense that fans are more vocal about his generally shitty management than other ceo's, even if their management isn't much better.

tbh sm's ceo and lee soo man have a bad rep on omona, the idiot who runs cube + jyp too. they all get their fair share of criticism imo. just that yg seems to spout more bs publicly than they do.

i'm shit on him ALL THE TIME and I openly dislike him because I personally think he's a shit human being. But he's not better OR worse than any other CEO in the kpop industry.

The difference is that he like to open his mouth and talk to the media incessantly (especially recently) therefore inviting more criticism than other CEO's who keep that shit private. He airs his artists' dirty laundry for the world to see and than expects us to be cool with him, but that's not how it works. I mean, even his own artists call him cruel??

He also happens to be the RICHEST ceo (yes even more than LSM) so that adds another layer to the venom.

because those other CEO's don't media whore themselves like YG does. I honestly have never seen any other executive behave the way that he does in the media.

I love how these girls (okay, maybe just Bom at most times) can throw out subtle sarcasms around. But I just need to let out how disappointed their so-called comeback on MAMA was. Something was missing ... like their usual over the top stage set and the fact that their mics weren't working most times was pretty frustrating too. And oh, Minzy is flawless - that solo album better be true.

The whole "comeback" performance seemed thrown together and CL was just so flat ugh. It was not a good stage at all. They should've performed a more dancey and fun song a la Falling in Love/Do You Love Me.

I was expecting them to bust into FIL/DYLM after MY...but that was it. Like what?! Maybe it was too muh to ask for. I agree that the performance seems last minute thing? Like they'd probably add it in since YG released the new song the day before. CL ...sigh, I like this girl but I can't help recalling her advise to Mino. Everyone else was great though, surprisingly Bom too haha!

It's just my personal opinion, but from overlooking Kpop since 2008, I think the opposite is true of what he said about Kpop. I think Kpop is declining in its own way. I was just having a talk at Ellui about this last night because WASSUP suddenly performed but no one knew who they were or even cared and the vast, vast majority of people in the audience were Koreans aged 20-30. I think international fans have this idea in their heads that Kpop is really popular, but when you're in Korea you quickly start to realize that it's not popular - it's "popular" as in you hear it and see it a lot but not necessarily everyone likes it.

IA, but it's also unfortunate in a way that back in 2008 there weren't so many kpop artists like today... When I look at all these new names like Wassup it's sad to see that they're all trying to do a concept that nobody has done before but it's hard because there is so many of the new groups and unless they truly have something special about them (or an extremely powerful agency backing them up) it's most likely that they are never going to be very popular...
