It wasn't as explicit as I thought it would be. Though, I do think I am sort of accustomed to the naked body by now, lol.

The song is a definite jam. Not a big fan of the mv though. The nude girl and the stripper girl don't bother me, but the use of them does. They were literally used as props rather than being interacted with like it was a storyline. If I'm looking at boobs, I need a reason...unless it's manboobs. Then I'm entertained. All in all I wasn't offended by them, just more of a 'what's the point' mindset.

mte

And the lyrics (though problematic themselves imo) do lend themselves to a storyline of some sort, or at least some kind of real interaction.

Right
So from blog hopping and reading random shizz, I guess these guys aren't kpop. They are an R&B HipHop group, who sing/perform in Korean (kind of important and wish int'l fans would understand not all Korean popular music is classified as Kpop).

I've watched the video a couple times now, read the lyrics and still feel, idk...conflicted.

Love the SOUND of the song. Esp the "Uuuuu jeongmal michyeosseo" part. The music is nice and it would be a jam. But the lyrics, just no.
(lol at the google search bringing up someone calling them beautiful)

Gems like: "Your body is something that only I can know" "I’ve fallen so deep for your nice body"
"Like tart, the outside has a crunch / But the inside is soft, it embraces me"

Real beautiful...>.> The sexual innuendos in the song don't bother me at all. I actually prefer that to the blatant gratuitous lyrics in a lot of other music. And lbr this is not the 1st song to praise a woman solely for her body (John Mayer - Your Body is a Wonderland - most ppl awww'd and how romantic'd that song to death).

Anyways - not here to shame nakedness or strippers. I'm actually always impressed by strippers who can actually do pole work. Like, that takes a lot of strength and skill to do that shit flawlessly and make it look easy. But - it was still another video and lyrics objectifying women. They were part of the set...nothing more. Men dressed in dapper suits while they're in various forms of undress, being used as furniture at one point.

i think I would've enjoyed the MV more had Navi been in it, and it was a back and forth between her and the guys. It wouldn't be the 1st kpop MV to feature one woman. with multiple members.

So that leaves me...IDK, not d/l this I guess? IDK

I agree with your analysis. I was thinking about what you said about it being a song that praises a woman solely for her body, and realized it's a direct contradiction to their last single release "Come As You Are" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M3wxG-oko40 In this song, they tell women they don't need to wear heels, makeup, be rich, etc. Granted, the women in the MV are all very pretty even without make up on, but the message is still good.

super late reply, sorry. I wanted to listen to the song and read the lyrics, and just finally got time (read: remembered) to do that.

I really do like their sound. Hmm.

Anyways, they seem to have a running theme of "baby I want you" in both songs (not unlike most Wester RnB lol). After reading the lyrics for both songs, idk if Come As You Are really conflicts with New Era, like I was expecting it too at least. I didn't read it as a "hey ladies, no need to wear make up and heels", I read it more as "Hey specific lady I'm interested in, I don't care what you wear bc I want you as you are."

I think we can agree that "New Era" isn't really representing anything new when it comes to views on women though =/
