Girls’ Generation Performs at KBS’s ‘Open Concert’

Girls’ Generation performed for the KBS “Open Concert” 1000th episode on October 29th. The 60-minute broadcast was aired on KBS1 on November 10th and featured various music genres, from K-Pop to jazz. Other performers at the concert included Sonya, Kim Taewoo, 2NE1, and Ali.

Girls’ Generation performed “I Got A Boy” and “Dancing Queen” as part of the program. For the opening of their performance, they entered on stage with a remixed introduction of “I Got A Boy”. The girls looked stunning in the black-and-yellow outfits they’ve showcased previously during their “I Got A Boy” promotions. After their first song, Sooyoung briefly talked to the audience and then introduced their next performance, “Dancing Queen”.

lol I don't know how people can sit through watching broadcasts of people lip-syncing............it makes the performance SO boring and like they don't care at all.

But, I guess SNSD don't have to care anymore.....since they are the national girl group anyways......
Until Yoona, Jessica, or Taeyeon end up with a scandal or one day decide to get married......

I mean I am not anti them or anything........there are many non-title tracks/OSTs I like from them......
But I am just against lip-syncing in general

this sounds more like they edited the backtrack over after the performance for the tv broadcast (like they do with their tour videos and some other performances) - b/c i've never heard a soshi audience be so quiet

also all idols lipsync at some point or another so i think you may be in the wrong genre if you're so against it

I realize most idols lip-sync especially on those weekly stages....

I call all those performances boring. I would rather watch the MV over and over and over than watch a lip-synced stage with the same dance as recorded in their 'dance versions'

There is a certain magic in hearing good singers sing live....even if they don't dance and only stand in one place

I definitely agree, I prefer watching live live performance too, even if the singing is not flawless, it's more fun that way. The audience's cheers are the part of the charm too. I don't really mind occasional lip-synching, though, as long as the performers bring something else to the table.

But then things like this happened quite a lot too. As sweetdary pointed out, they actually sang live in the fancam but then the audio was edited in the broadcasted one . I don't know why broadcast stations do that (bad audio equipment, perhaps? But it's really no excuse especially in this case, it's the music show's 1000th episode special lol) but it's why I prefer watching fancams instead of the broadcast ones (also, sometimes fancams has better camera works!!!)

I've seen a few idols perform (festivals and a music show) and they always perform live but their backtracks tend to be so loud and I think it comes across that way on broadcasts.
