'Reply 1994' cast makes promises for higher ratings

Characters from the show “Reply 1994″ appeared on twitter to make promises related to higher ratings for the show.

According to the rating index, the eighth episode of Reply 1994, entitled “The Effect of a Moment’s Choice on Your Life,” scored an average rating of 7.1%, with a high of 8.6%. It was the highest rated show on cable, satellite and IPTV.

Characters from the show have made promises if the ratings go up. Do Hee, who plays the role of Jo Yoon Jin, said that she would give free hugs in Myeongdong if the ratings were higher than 7%. Also Jeong Woo (role of Garbage) and Yoon Yeon Seok (role of Chil Bong Hee) promised that if the ratings exceed 10% they would give out free hugs in Myeongdong as well. Go Ah Ra (role of Seong Na Jeong) promised some of her cherished items, while Kim Seung Hyun (role of Sam Cheon Po) and Son Ho Jun (role of Hae Tae) promised to make an appearance on the streets of Myeongdong if the ratings were over 10%. If the ratings soared to over 17%, they all promised free-giveaways.

Netizens responded “I hope the ratings go up 10% because of these promises,” “Free hugs from Do Hee!” and “It would be better if they do it in a group.”

lol I don't think you'll get any kind of actual hints from hands. The writers have said that the husband is decided in the script, but no one knows who it is and they could change it based on public opinion. Apparently they went through a lot of trouble keeping the husband's identity a secret in the 1997 version too, even refilming some scenes and filming scenes with all the male actors' hands, etc...

I have this conspiracy theory that the writers wanted Najeong/Chilbong to be the end game but netizens were obsessed with Trash so they made Jung Woo reveal his relationship so viewers will hop on the N/C train and the writers will get the ending they wanted without having to give in to the angry viewers who wanted Trash to marry her.

It makes sense! It's kind of their own fault since they started off focusing so much on Na Jung/Trash though. And right now they're totally focusing on Na Jung/Chil Bong to the point where you totally forget about Trash. Maybe it's just because I like Chil Bong more now, but it seems like the Na Jung/Trash scenes in the last two episodes were not as sweet as they used to be. Or maybe I'm just too biased now >> Seriously though, they didn't even introduce his character for the first one or two episodes, of course he's behind in public opinion -_-;;

Since Na Jung's crush was revealed we should finally get some sort of movement in this love triangle. And then we can see how things will progress. It's funny because I remember that during the scene when Chilbong was giving Na Jung a massage I still favored Trash, but slowly over time Chilbong became my favorite because he's just so sweet and devoted. And when he was all excited about calling Na Jung's mom "mom" and then when he copies the other kids' dialects... They think he's making fun of them but I think he just wants to fit it+he likes how they talk and how warm they are with each other. Pretty much just everything about him pulls me in >>

Idk if I was ever on team anybody but I thought Chilbong was too ~prim and perfect for me to really care but when he finally started showing a different side to him (him calling mum Mum was adorable, as was his attempts at satoori...and then skipping baseball practice and calling Sam Cheon Po a cheapskate lol) I really started to like him. I don't think either ending will disappoint me but I want Chilbong to win this one.

Im hoping your conspiracy is true ><, i could not see trash and najung as lover considering how very siblings they are in the first episode but everyone seems to liking them together. Episode 8 might be a reminder by writers to us that first love doesnt mean everything and that anything could happen in a short moment.

This is the first time im totally invested in a show, it keeps getting better.

I didn't mind the first love storyline in 1997 but I still believe that Najeong likes Trash largely because he gives her the sense of comfort and security she lost when her brother died. And when she starts developing a crush every little thing he's done which he's always done becomes something to swoon about. But Chilbong's affections for her are so...earnest ;; I wish she'd realize that instead of pining for the guy who pinches her cheeks to keep from confronting his feelings.
