2PM in Frankfurt, Compilation Post
2013-10-27 01:50 pm
In order to commemorate 130 years of diplomatic relations between Korea and Germany and 50 years since Korean laborers were sent to Germany, Lee Mi Ja, Cho Yong Nam, and 2PM held a special concert in Frankfurt yesterday. The concert took place at the Jahrhunderthalle (Century Hall) in Frankfurt and the tickets were given away for free, therefore they were gone quite quickly.

After various songs performed by Lee Mi-Ja as well as Cho Yong Nam, 2PM appeared on stage approximitely 2 hours after the show began.
They performed a mix of songs, from older songs like "Heartbeat" to "Hands Up". Their performance was energetic and pulled everyone from their seats, even the older veterans "put their hands up" when 2PM asked the crowd to, some fans even left their seats to run towards the stage.

Date: 2013-10-27 05:22 pm (UTC)They have already been some concerts in Berlin, am I right ? But yeah, Francfort M, that's nothing predictable ! Even though some Japanese friends told me there were a lot of Asian migration there, I haven't seen it last time I visited Francfort, and it was smaller than what I expected o.o

Date: 2013-10-27 05:55 pm (UTC)I'm not sure about Berlin but I know that Berlin is usually a more popular spot for concerts, so I was positively surprised about it taking place in Frankfurt.
But I heard that it's because the Frankfurt area has the highest Korean population in Germany (5300 residents according to Wikipedia) so I guess it makes sense. I see lots of Korean people, all the time. Japanese not so much, tbh.

Date: 2013-10-28 11:07 am (UTC)Same with Paris. But I think JYJ were in Berlin and Barcelona, thus I made this coment.
Well my friends didn't really talk about nationalities, but the fact that they were a lot of Asians and that they could find Japanese foods way easier than where we were living (Osnabrück, quite small and nothing to do). I kinda imagined there were Japanese there but if it's more Korean, well, it's me who didn't understand well :)
And this makes me think I didn't go in the right places in Frankfurt haha.

Date: 2013-10-27 05:47 pm (UTC)Seeing them in real life was a surreal experience; in RL the members look SO much better, especially Junho. Minjun seemed to enjoy it a lot as he did a lot of fanservice (throwing hearts and kisses etc.).
I really hope that I'll get to attend a full 2PM concert in the future.
And lol the MBC staff was flabbergasted by the massive fangirl reaction, when 2PM performed.
I really hope JYPE (and other companies) will realize that they should add Germany to their world map, German fans are cash cows.
OP, I was wondering, where did you get to sit with your press tickets and don't tell me you're really a journalist or just somebody who happens to own a press pass or knows somebody who owns one?
Edit: I forgot to add that their choreo looks so sharp, crisp and intense in RL and their stamina is amazing. When they performed Heartbeat my ovaries were probably gone.

Date: 2013-10-27 06:03 pm (UTC)Surreal is the perfect word, I couldn't really believe it afterwards, so weird to see them in RL. And I'm not even that much into k-pop (I mean I love k-pop but I wouldn't have gone to the concert if it wasn't for free :D)
Were the MBC staff really shocked by the reaction? I wondered about that :D I know that the older people behind me were really confused that so many non-Asians were screaming :D
The seats I got weren't really all that great, they were Balcony seats, so technically I was really far away. Here is a video I took myself so you can kinda guess how far I was away. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rTcMQCmvl40
The tickets actually came from K-Bang, a German K-pop Magazine I did an internship at, so that's why they're press tickets :) But you could also get them if you were part of the Korean Film Festival (Projekt K) at our University in Frankfurt :)

Date: 2013-10-27 06:27 pm (UTC)The MBC staff seemed overwhelmed by the situation, when people ran up to the front. They tried to send us back to the seats but no one listened to them. When 2PM entered the stage for the last time and bid farewell, the staff immediately blocked everyone from going close to the stage.
You did an internship at K-Bang, which is published by raptor, right? I used to buy Koneko so much, when I was younger. I'm also interested in working as an internship for them (or vice) but somehow I can't find a lot of information.
Projekt K...I guess you study at Goethe? Lol, me too. I'm enrolled in economic science and started studying this semester, I'm interested in participating in Projekt K but when I asked, I got the impression, they're only interested in students, who study Korean Studies.
Oh my..I ended up typing a lot more than I originally intended to, if you don't mind I was wondering, if you have twitter/tumblr, I guess it'd be easier to continue our conversation.

Date: 2013-10-27 06:53 pm (UTC)Yeah exactly, Raptor Publishing :) I did an internship there not too long ago and one in 2007 as well :) Just call them, they're such nice people, they'll probably invite you for an interview :)
Yeah I'm majoring in Japanese Studies, English studies is my minor. No not at all, a friend of mine is from Japanese studies as well and he was part of the helper group there :D For the concert as well :)
I have either but I'm more active on twitter, I've got the same username there :)

Date: 2013-10-27 07:21 pm (UTC)I guess I'll try that, thanks for the advise c:
Originally I also intended to go for languages and cultural studies but in the end I went for the safer (and more difficult) economic science.
I guess I asked the wrong person, that girl seemed anyway a bit lost, when I approached her.
I followed you on tumblr and twitter, my usernames are chorion and hyoheol respectively. (I just realized my twitter account is locked, so you probably can't see me unless you follow me OTL)

too bad i couldn't go.. and i was so close
tbh I've said it thousand times but JYPE really should think about sending 2PM on a world tour. Come on, Infinite has one and they debuted later.
