The netizen, "A," who spread vicious rumors about IU on the internet managed to avoid criminal punishment on the condition that "A" does community service.

Through a mediation procedure, "A" reached an agreement with IU's agency Loen Entertainment in which the latter would drop the charge if "A" did 200 hours of community service.



After the charge was dropped, the investigator of Seoul Central District Prosecutors' Office terminated the case, saying there would be no right of arraignment in regards to "A."



In summary, last May, the netizen had written, "IU will be marrying a famous idol member," on the internet, spreading false rumors about the singer. The perpetrator was discovered last month through the IP address and was in the middle of investigation until this settlement was reached between the two parties.

The October 17 installment of JTBC's 'Ssul Jeon' discussed IU's settlement with the perpetrator who spread vicious rumors about her impending marriage to a male idol. It was decided that the charges would be dropped if the perpetrator did 200 hours of community service.



Heechul said, "When I asked her why she settled, she said she wanted to go all the way, but her company and other adults advised her they should let it go this once because it was the perpetrator's first time."


Another MC pointed out that the perpetrator kept making excuses to make his situation seem pitiable, saying things like things were not good at work and it appeared as if he were about to get a divorce. Heechul said that made IU even angrier and more convinced she had to see this through to the end. However, she ultimately listened to the adults and compromised.



Heechul asked her if he could reveal this information when he went on 'Ssul Jeon' and IU told him that this type of information was exactly what the program was for. The other MCs jokingly teased Heechul, calling him a reporter and thanking him for his hard work. IU also told him to say everything instead of trying to cover anything up for her and being criticized for it like in the Sulli incident.



IU boldly showed that she might look cute and pretty, but she was a strong force to be reckoned with if treated incorrectly!

IU will hold her 2nd solo concert this November!


LOEN Entertainment announced, "IU will hold her solo concert, 'Modern Times', at Kyunghee University's Peace Hall in Hoegidong, Seoul on November 23-24." She'll also hold a concert in Busan at KBS Hall on December 1.



At her upcoming solo concert, IU will showcase her growth as an artist by taking on the genres of swings, jazz, bossa nova, folk, and more as she performs her latest tracks from her 3rd full-length album as well as her previous hit songs!

for iu going after the person, and not wanting to listen to her company and "adults" (even if in the end she did) to settle....i give her much respect. from the yunho incident to the sasaengs, i feel like the "adults" and the sk entertainment companies are super soft in incidents that can grow bigger.

For what it's worth, I feel like the Eunhyuk selca scandal made her grow up a lot (made me realize that she's grown a lot?) and just makes me like her a lot more now. Plus the stuff she's been coming out with has been pretty golden.

She seems like such a grounded and together person. I really like her new album, there are some really great tracks and the sound as a whole is fantastic. She's always been so talented.

The water diet she talked about in the video sounds really extreme o_0 Water poisoning is a thing so I hope she doesn't overdo it too much. Also I had no clue she'd bleached her hair, I thought it was just dye, but that definitely explains why it's been looking less than IU-flawless. I really dislike how they styled her hair for this comeback, I personally don't think the colour suits her and it so often looks limp and lifeless :(

I'm glad Heechul revealed her opinions on that matter. I think people don't know that she's actually pretty assertive because she had been going with the aegyo-oppa concept for quite a while (they are not mutually exclusive). But I think it comes across in her interviews/variety appearances, even way before her 'scandal'.

Expected nothing less from her. I wanted her to slay the charts like she did for Last Fantasy and she certainly did.

OP, I agree about the Last Fantasy DVD, was fairly disappointed. Hope they'll release a proper concert dvd this time round.
