It appears that JYJ and SM Entertainment's Founder Lee Soo Man may be encountering each other once again.
On October 2nd, Democratic congressman Min Byung Doo requested to the National Policy Committee to have SM's chairman Lee Soo Man, the Korea Pop Culture and Arts Industry Coalition chairman Yang Yi Sik, and idol group JYJ make an appearance to testify on the pretext of improving relationships in the entertainment world.
However, an official decision has not yet been made on whether the committee will request these parties' presence. On the 4th, the National Policy Committee's House of Representatives will reopen to make that decision. JYJ's agency C-JeS Entertainment said, "There has been no official request for appearance as of yet. We believe we will be able to reveal at a later time whether JYJ will attend."
In July, SM Entertainment and the Korean Federation of Pop Culture and Art Industry (KFPCAI) were issued sanctions for interfering in JYJ's business activities, such as hindering them from appearing on broadcasts.
A representative for congressman Min Byung Doo said, "Large entertainment companies use their influence to reign over broadcasting companies and singers. Our purpose is to bring about economic democratization in all familiar areas for both the entertainment world and general public."
It will be revealed on the 4th whether the committee will decide to request the appearances of the involved parties in hopes of improving the relationships in the entertainment industry. If JYJ and Lee Soo Man do attend as witnesses, it would be their first time meeting since 2009.

Date: 2013-10-02 07:57 pm (UTC)Is this congressman trying to earn a popularity vote or something? JYJ didn't really have a problem with LSM as far as I recall. If anyone should be present at such a thing, it would be the current CEO.
I think this is some odd publicity ploy rather than an actual thing. Stupid.
