I think it is b/c if you look at the opening scene there are the ballet shoes next to the name of the song on the billboard. I love all of those cool references they've 'hidden' in this album.
Kinda feel that IU is trying to be GaIn on this album instead of IU. I kinda wonder if Loen gave the songs meant for GaIn for IU after GaIn left the company?
Highly doubt, because the timings for both would be screwed. It takes time to produce an album like this, especially with all the features/actual songwriting/composing/etc. that she's done, she's been 'working on her comeback' for a while. I know we don't know when Gain actually 'left', but it seemed like it was on pretty good terms..

Genre-wise yes, but I meant image-wise - I prefer serious!IU to cutesy!IU (not that there's anything wrong with Good Day). Since MIA it's been mostly cute until the last half of Last Fantasy/Spring (which was also flawless and only three digital songs long ;___;) with the exception of her live covers, and I'm just really glad to see her moving away from that. I don't think she really liked the cute stuff, or at least not as much as the others. I have no idea, I'm just happy.
My problem with this album isn't her image though, but that the music sounds too much like GaIn's solo stuff. I expected something non cute and something that wouldn't make me think of another artist either (I mean IU's previous more serious songs as well as her covers have had very different sound than songs on this album). But then again I guess Loen doesn't really care about that kind of stuff considering they gave GaIn clearly a IU song with racier lyrics as her last title track.
i have liked every single bit of music in IU's teasers....that IU/Hyuk scandal with her breaking her cutesy image did her well! this feels more real and not so forced. i think i'm now a fan
