I also like the old-timey '20s feel to the melody. I wasn't quite keen on her past work, but I can see myself liking IU's upcoming album just based on all the musical references I've heard in her teasers.

The first moments, with the factory, the sheeps and the workers going to work, are from Modern Times by Charlie Chaplin (and are the movie introduction in fact)
If that can make you feel better, I watched Modern Times over and over again, but I just made the connection with seeing this teaser too I thought it was just a reference to the time/social period refered as "Modern times", I'm so so glad to see this Chaplin reference. Everything seems right about this comeback !
I guess it was about the Chaplin film, I do also think they're alluding to modern times with a meaning to their fans to accept that she's an adult. The teasers have all been very forthcoming. Between the lips, Gain lesbian overtones etc.
these teasers have been on point. this is going to be a really fun album. andi didnt know i wanted a gain iu duet until it was given to me. i need the full song now!
