L's fansites go on hiatus

It appears that after the dating rumor between INFINITE's L (Myungsoo) and ulzzang Kim Do Yeon, many of his fan sites have temporarily closed.

One of his fan pages called 'Master of Affection' left this message for all his fans on the main page: "Taking a small break as we've dashed forward only looking ahead. Myungsoo, you said you wanted to be a shining light. Didn't your fans go deeper into the darkness in order to make you shine? Then you should've protected yourself more preciously."

Another fan page 'Focus L' wrote, "It only takes a fleeting moment for a star in the sky to become a falling star. Search once more to discover what kind of life you lead," and subsequently closed the fan site.

Other L fan sites that have temporarily closed their pages include 'L's Wings,' 'Made in L,' 'High L,' 'PS Lovely,' and 'Runaway.'

Meanwhile, L's agency Woollim Entertainment are denying any romantic relationship between the two, saying they are just friends who met only a short time ago.

Netizens also dug up a tweet Kim Do Yeon left just a day before the rumors began blowing up. According to the tweet on September 26 that started this rumor, she and L had an argument the day before, which would be on September 25. On this day, she had tweeted, "I don't like cowards," and netizens are now wondering if that was directed at L.

All I can think of right now is that it's going to be really, really sad if this all turns out to be the girl being attention-grabbing and lying about being in a relationship with L. Not saying that that's what she's doing, because how are we supposed to know what's really going on, but if that IS the case, then that would not only mean that Myungsoo's fans dropped him over nothing, but also that his infamous tweets that those fans are mad about ("we thought they were about us, but they were indirectly about her!") were never about her in the first place.

Meanwhile, Infinite is not even around for Myungsoo to defend himself or possibly explain the situation. *sigh* It's all just so ugly. Glad I'm not a "devoted fan" of anyone. (Lol I just get casually obsessed over a group for a certain amount of time and then move on to the next interesting artist.)

I just hope this won't affect Infinite's hard work. They've been so devoted to their careers. It would be such a shame for them to suffer for this.

It's still based on this mistaken notion that dating/sex is shameful and should be done in secret because it doesn't fit the idol image, and that idols belong 100% to their fans because fans buy merchandise, but within that framework I... guess... I could see how L's actions could be interpreted as a personal affront to the people who have been working to maintain the idol illusion. Only the website admins and higherups should feel this way though, not the casual fansite member.
