[News] Which team won the first battle on ‘WIN,’ Taeyang’s Team A or G-Dragon’s Team B?

YG Entertainment's rookie survival program 'WIN' is getting a lot of attention, especially as two teams are battling it out to see which group will come out the winner.  While Team A is being coached by Big Bang's Taeyang, Team B is being coached by Big Bang’s G-Dragon.

The two teams’ first battle was broadcast on September 27.  Although G-Dragon had revealed some doubts as to whether he would win because he had always lost to Taeyang during their training battle days, his worries proved unfounded!  That’s right.  G-Dragon’s Team B won the first battle against Taeyang’s Team A!

YG Entertainment’s CEO, Yang Hyun Suk, said, “It’s not that Team A did badly.  The thing that struck out the most was their fear of the competition.  You must never be scared of your opponents."

It turned out 2NE1's CL was there to give her advice, as well.  She supportively told Team A’s leader Song Min Ho, “If your team performed on stage, but it wasn’t great, it is your responsibility [as the leader].  No matter what, you must pull them forward.”

After three battles within a ten week period, the winning team will debut as the first YG idol boy group in eight years since Big Bang.  Their set group name WINNER will definitely suit them considering the tough, competitive circumstances that brought them there.

Umm...why am I laughing at the thought that OOAK sound better if someone who actually sings does certain parts

Team A has that damn name recognition/individuality, possible sympathy vote, and age on their side so....voting probably might not go Team B's way

I do feel bad for Minho though...he just became the leader and is the newest to YG too...that criticism must have hurt

YG leaders seem to be kind of direct toward the other leaders...makes me wonder what GD said to CL when she first started

“I liked it so much that I screamed just now. Why is that? Honestly, when the two teams were standing together just now, I was looking forward to Team A more. Why? (Because) We’ve seen more of them individually. Team A..they have characters. Although there’s no one like that (in this team), I felt like there was a huge reversal (in the situation) as the performance progressed on. I really like Goo Joon Hwae’s voice too. Bobby, he looked at me straight in the eyes just now. Because (the performance) had energy, it was really good.”

tbh Team A has always reminded me more of Big Bang than Team B has, and they are looking for the "next big bang", so. Team B has great teamwork and choreo and they're a lot more hiphop influenced than Team A, but Big Bang/recent YG has never been about any of that stuff anyway. Esp. since Big Bang comes across as more of a collab group of individual artists with their own styles rather than a completely cohesive unit. I mean, I love Team B but I can't really see anybody besides Bobby or B.I successfully release a solo album. Which is probably why more netizens are on A's side, because they stand out/are appealing as individuals.

I don't know who I would vote for. I like a couple people from each team but I don't like either team as a whole group. I feel like they are both very mediocre.

I would like to see a challenge where the YG producers make a song for each group and they would get judged by their performance. I think that is a better way to show their talent.

What matters is which group is going to sell more albums once they debut. More people support team A, but are those same people who pity them going to buy their albums? Probably not.
As for team B, people just aren't connecting with them as much, which means they probably aren't going to sell as many albums.At the end of the day, it doesn't matter how good at rapping, singing, or dancing you are if no one cares about your group or its individual members.
Either group that debuts will have a solid fan base to sustain them, but their longevity depends on whether the public supports them too.

Not that surprised that Team B won, 'cos there's always that awkward, lacking something feel with Team A when they perform. Poor Mino though. Boy was appointed leader just recently and he's probably still adjusting himself with the others. But recalling what CL said previously on 2ne1tv how leaders can't cry/have it tough in YG ... T.T And oh - surprisingly I thought Jinwoo's voice was actually pretty good during the performance.

And Taehyun's center parting is starting to look adorable. Ha!

I think Jinwoo did his best this episode. I was pleasantly surprised too.

It's too bad for Mino, I do think he has the leadership qualities, it's just that he's still holding himself back a bit because he hasn't been a trainee for very long. I mean, with Taehyun's sometimes diva attitude Mino needed to tread carefully. Zico already gave him pretty good advice though.

I wasn't even interested in this but everytime I watch the cuts I favore Team B. Team A has better vocals, but they just leave no impression on me. They seem like a typical newbie group still nervous. Team B have better charisma, and their shoddy vocals get outshone by their great dancing and showmanship. It'll be unfortunate if Team B doesn't debut...but then again maybe not. Maybe they'll leave YG and the best members will debut with another company and be in an even more awesome group? It's actually not that big a stretch. XD

Everyone's best scenario seems to be Team A debuting with B.I and Bobby, but it'll be awkward for both teams if it turns out that way. B.I and Bobby will have mixed feelings, Team B will be dispirited, and Team A have to find their feet again with new members.

This reminds me of DBSK's and SuJu's pre-debut stories.

Somehow it was obvious that TOP and Seungri would vote for Team A, while the girls (and Daesung) would vote for the jailbaits.

This just further proved my theory that TOP got real taste and class, however his solo works aren't ghetto fabulous swaggy tacky enough for YG.
Or he's just lazy.

Team B gave me secondhand embarrassment during OOAK but I never liked that song anyway and if I have to listen to their voices on a regular basis...w/e I could never listen to them on a regular basis.

Team A's singing was better, but I liked Team B's dance better. If Yunhyung and Donghyuk didn't sing/rap, I'd like their performance One of a Kind better. I do like JoonHwe's voice. I still lean more toward B. I just enjoy watching them as a whole better than Team A. Jinwoo sounded good so at least he improved. The only person I've changed my mind about from the beginning to the past 2 weeks is Joonhwe. Pretty much the rest of faves have stayed the same: Mino, KSY, Bobby, B.I.

I'm here for cute Bobby.

-I feel like B.I and Bobby are like GDYB 2.0. I think that Team A will probably win, but I hope YG keeps B.I and Bobby. At least keep them as a duo or something. They'll be the GDYB group that never was.

#special snowflake here bc i don't feel anything for team a. i don't think they are similar to big bang too bc the performance is the area where big bang does extremely well and it's team a weakness.

i know ppl were saying that gd tried to make team b into his clones but team b owned it, on the other hand i don't feel like team a has any style tbqh. and about the individuality: it's hard to judge a character when the rest of the team b besides bobby and b.i had like minute of screentime.

team a is mblaq, team b is infinite. mblaq is a good group, but it's stuck into middle b tier because they are missing that x factor. infinite is the younger group, who maybe has few less talented members but is way more popular.

Team A is weak in performance...people see their individuality as relating to Big Bang but when the rest of Team B has almost no screen time of course you are going to know Team A more.

I knew the swagging up of Team B would work in their favour, ofcourse it was. Team A can work on their dancing and teamwork, Team B can't get better vocals. YG use your brain, make a super group and trim the fat. That or B.I/Bobby rap unit.

Technically Team A's perf was good but it was boring and not captivating.

I don't understand how team's B horrible vocals go unmentioned week after week. The guy singing "la la la" part of One of a Kind has no business being a singer. Most recently debuted boy group have much better vocals. No amount of posturing on stage and perfectly performing choreographies jacked from youtube can make up for how gross they sound when they attempt to sing.
