SMTOWN Heads for Beijing with Tasty in October

Starting up its company reunion again, SM Entertainment announced that the next stop for SMTOWN will be Beijing.

On October 19, SMTOWN, which includes Kangta, BoA, TVXQ, Super Junior, Super Junior-M, Girls’ Generation, SHINee, f(x), EXO, and Zhang Li Yin will be heading to the National Stadium for the SMTOWN Live World Tour III in Beijing to greet fans.

Also included in the line is Tasty, who will be joining the SM Crew after Woollim Entertainment merged with SM C&C to become Woollim Label back in early August.

Around 100,000 fans are expected to arrive for the concert.

SMTOWN will also be heading to Tokyo for the SMTOWN Live World Tour III in Tokyo Special Edition, which will take place on October 26 and 27.

(for once) i'm all the netizen tbh.
maybe tasty will be a sort of opening act or something ? (idk i can't see them really performing among all the sm artists? or can i?).
i guess they are doing this partly (or mainly) because they're chinese, and also to see and test how the fans will actually react to the merging thing. (well i hope it's going to be all good and alright for them all) (and in another hand, i hope it won't) (sorry) (not that sorry) (idk anymore)

lol this lie. infinite were probably more awkward w/SMTown groups than Tasty was at idol sports championship, amber & exo have been with them via social media, and at least the china line of Exo seems to be friendly with them (exo's encore stages).

anyway, I really don't see why people should be concerned rn. SMTown groups at SMtown already have a small set list, I doubt Tasty's going to do any real damage to shorten them. Tasty fans get to see them more abroad and they get more global recognition. Nothing bad.

It'll be more interesting if/when Infinite joins though, considering they have a somewhat decent fanbase and it may be hard for SMTown to give them the spotlight their popularity deserves.

i used to hate this merge because i've never been watched infinite or tasty at all
but then i was thinking, how if my other favorite idol group join sm? well i'll be so happy to see them interact with my favourite groups

I understand the concerns that some fans may have (potential awkwardness between the Woollim and SM artists, even shorter time given to other SM acts who are normally already neglected [ZLY]), but I really really wish fans could just put aside company loyalty or fandom biases and just welcome the Woollim acts at the SMTown concerts.

The merge has happened, the SM family is growing. Might as well make the transition easier on both the original SM-ers and the new family members by being welcoming and supportive.

The fans don't have to make this awkward... even though they probably will....

Side note: I really like Tasty. I love watching their dance practice vids more than their MVs tbh.

This is probably a test drive or sort from SM C&C. I'm curious if they'll be added in the Seoul concert, considering it was mentioned the merge was done to supposedly manage their overseas activities.

It makes sense that they're starting with Tasty, since they are a newer group. But, if they try and do this with Infinite, it will not blow over that well. Infinite's fanbase is way too big for this to just happen without a huge amount of verbal protest.

To be honest the only thing I could possibly think of is them just being an opening act, and that's it... I can't see them being there for any other reason at least from SM's perspective. Which is beneficial cause Tasty could gain more fans, the only downfall is of course that SM town tickets are already hard enough to get your hands on as an sm town fan, can you imagine any tasty-only fans being able to get tickets? and if they did, and weren't there for sm town OH BOY.

People also said SM will not interfere with Woollim artists' music. Now I'm scared of this one.

It's not like SM town artists aren't awkward with each other, the family stuff is for show half the time.

But I still don't think Tasty should be there, mainly because they'll be a target for unwarranted hate from fandoms, if not SM town family members making them feel unwanted and uncomfortable for going on their turf or taking their time. Idol groups aren't exactly playful families, shit is cutthroat. I just hope the staff and stuff don't treat them poorly.

We don't even know what goes on behind close doors. Let's not fart on the idea just yet. People need to learn when to be open minded. The only people who are going to make this awkward are going to be the fans. Which has already started to happen.

I like Tasty all right, but I'm not interested in paying SMTown ticket prices to see them.

In terms of music, image, and concept- SMTown and Tasty are like apples and oranges. SM artists are all products of the same machine, so their sets generally flow rather well one into the other. However, Tasty is cut from a different cloth, so I feel their presence will disrupt the flow of the concert. That and the fan culture for both are different. I just don't see it meshing for me.

If I'm going to pay $100+ for tickets, I need to see as much of my bias as possible and as many acts that peak my interest as possible. Tasty is not one of those acts. Maybe y'all have the money to spend on a show like that, but as someone who's broke as hell, I need my concerts to be economically efficient as possible. And SM would be fucking with that if they included Tasty into an SMTown concert I'm attending.

At first I was happy at the thought of Woolim artists joining SM Town because...more acts = more value for my buck because gdi SM Town concert tickets aren't cheap ok. :/ As long as they don't increase the concert length to another hour just to accommodate everyone? 4 hours was already too much for the previous SM Town.
