Does anyone else think that BoA really hasn't been able to show off her chops in the U.S? I'm still remembering Talk Play Love as a particular highlight of her vocals.
They better give her more places to show her range, because she needs to stand out as much as possible if she really wants to make it over here.
I agree, but I kind of have a feeling they're going to be keeping her with the whole electronic/dance genre in a poor attempt to make her songs catchier even though the same thing can be done without making her sound like a robot. :\
I think what they're trying to do (not that I approve) is put her in where things are popular. Once she gains a serious following (according to SM) maybe she'll be able to gain a bit more wiggle room.
Yeah, that's what I was thinking. When/if she becomes more popular and has the possibility of dropping a sophomore album, there will be more vocal-centric songs on it.
imho, though, they're doing a shoddy job of promoting her. My bestie's a DJ at a popular radio station in Miami and she'd never heard anything about any of her English stuff until I flat-out told her about it.
well, it's like a_small_star said, they have to push her out where the market is good, that way she can change her style and people will still go for it. It's all about promotion, and about what the public likes right now, and I think, if they keep doing this style, people will soon know her name, because it's something that's so big here right now. Then, later, she can change it up, and people will STILL know her name, because of the previous CRAP she put out. It's all about making your name.
This. She has a fabulous voice and I really think SM is doing a crap job getting her going over here. She hasn't done anything in Korea or Japan in forever so she's dropping off. I don't approve.
I find (maybe i'm just biased) BoA much favorable to listen to than Akon. :L Because her voice (before) wasn't messed up with all that electronic shit. Now....eeeeeee T_____T
i actually think akon and boa mesh together well? i'm not too fond of the electronic/vocoder/autotune sound anymore, but otherwise it sounds like a good song to me. :D
MTE. They're not showing BoA && her real singing abilities everybody's just going to think that her voice is just only getting enhanced because of the autotune (don't know as well if that's the right terminology or not :L) so yeah. Kinda really sucks balls.

I hate what they did to her voice. Why, why, why? D: Her normal voice would've sounded nice with the song. I thought maybe they were trying to hide her accent or something, but it's not being released in America. I don't get it :|
I think I'd like this song a lot better if I could stand the sound of Akon's voice. :/ Also, if it didn't remind me so much of Sean Kingston's Beautiful Girl for some reason. DNW.
