i guess since it's not really for an actual scene but more of a two-second still shot. she's supposed to be a tragic first love so maybe they were going for the dream or ghost angle idk.

i don't think it would be as weird if the director just let them kiss naturally but he seems pretty adamant the guy be as unresponsive as possible and she keep it "innocent". weaksauce kiss but i've definitely seen worse. their eyes were closed at least!
