"I keep on thinking how to express my heavy heart all day long but now i will write it..first, i want to say our deepest apology to those who uncomfortable with our appearance as a guest on radio star episode yesterday.

We will deeply reflect on how we showed you our unprofessional attitude. To the Radio Star MC seniors and also JYP senior who helped us and taking care of us during the filming and even after the broadcast, we are really sorry and very thankful.

We will become Seungyeon, Hara, Jiyoung who will show you our brighter self and our hard working self."

DSP Media Apologizes Too
KARA stole the show on the September 4th broadcast of MBC's 'Radio Star' with their sensitive responses to the touchy topics of dating and so forth, and the girls as well as their agency came forward to apologize.

DSP Media stated, "KARA made a comeback but it seemed like only her [Hara] dating rumors received attention so [Hara] was noticeably sad. She was embarrassed by the talk about her dating rumors... We shouldn't show that kind of image during broadcast and it wasn't a good way of behaving. Hara also told us that she sincerely apologized afterwards."

Seungyeon tweeted, "I was thinking about how to express my feelings all day long and I finally leave this post.. First off, through yesterday's broadcast of 'Radio Star' which we featured as guests on, we deeply apologize to the viewers who felt uncomfortable."

"We will deeply reflect on the aspects of our behavior that weren't professional. While filming and after the broadcast, we are really sorry and thankful to the 'Radio Star' MCs as well as J.Y. Park sunbaenim who helped and took care of us. We will become a Seungyeon, Hara, and Jiyoung who show a more brighter and hard-working image from now on."

Jiyoung also shared on Instagram, "As I grew up, there are lessons that I learned that I sometimes forget and some lessons that are always useful. I learned that their is no correct answer in the process of overcoming one's obstacles and choosing between two paths. Every time I receive pain from those who touch my emotional wounds, that is when I know that I lost my self-control. I don't want to live by following the intentions of the people who try to hurt me."

Honestly I think people are reading way too much into this. For one its at least partially scripted. And two Kyu and Hara are friends. He was teasing her, not slut shaming her. Have you never teased your friends about something that bothered them? Because I know I've been on both sides of it. Yes he shouldn't have done it and he should have stopped instead of continuing to prod. But he's not see horrible woman hating sexist because he picked on his friend and upset her.

I'm happy to see at least one of the hosts apologized even if it was in their script, and they were just doing their job. Not sure why Seungyeon apologized though. When people are bullying you, it's natural to get upset.

i didn't find anything wrong with either side of the interview, actually. i like the concept of radio star (because i like it when my faves are trolled) but i also like it when idols, (especially female ones) show emotion that isn't just constrained to laughing and clapping and standing up at every joke. i don't think the hosts or jyp were offended, even, it's just netizens as usual being unable to handle female emotion that isn't geared towards pleasing the menfolk.

i know radio star is a "diss show" but is there anything that suggests (other than netizens, but let's ignore them here) that the guests aren't allowed to dish back?

I feel conflicted over this... I like Radio Star. I like the bluntness and them cutting to the chase. And everyone's fair game, even the MCs and especially Kyuhyun. They like it when the guests get one up over the MCs with a witty comeback. I can't count the times Kyuhyun has gotten KO'd by the guests, MCs and even viewers alike. There are running gags they like to spring on him that make him visibly uncomfortable but if I start feeling sorry for him I just remind myself that he is doing the show because he wants to, like Hara and all the guests that eventually find themselves in a jam did too.

At the same time, she cried. I don't think anyone wanted or enjoyed that. So one might say that it was crossing the line. But on the other hand, it's what they do. They habitually cross the line and not everyone likes to watch it, precisely because of that reason. Are you guys saying that they shouldn't have done to her what they do to all their guests? Because she's a girl? And she... couldn't handle it?

And I do understand that she is getting unfairly hounded by the press simply because she dated/is dating, and I get the misogynistic undertones her treatment carries. But they were also talking about the public perception of her dating and I think there was an opening where she could have called bullshit on the presumptions and be done with it. I'm not saying that would have miraculously made it all better but it couldn't have been worse than this.

I don't blame Hara for anything. She had every right to react the way she did and no one's going to tell me otherwise. At the same time, I don't think Radio Star in general or the MCs and scriptwriters are in the wrong either, and I'm not entirely sure these apologies after the fact were needed or necessary. Nor will they do any good with the damage already done.

I do however have beef with the PDs of the show as well as Kara's agency. I don't think the girls were up for the roasting nor was the timing right (despite their comeback). As for the PDs, even if they didn't want to edit the exchange out, whose idea was it to use this incident for promoting this week's episode with articles basically saying "Tune in to watch Kyuhyun make Hara cry!"? It's so unnecessary and tacky. I know Radio Star isn't exactly considered a-grade but it's a low blow and toying with the public images of both of them.

And lastly, I am somewhat disappointed with Kyuhyun. Not because I think he said anything particularly mean or acted out of malice but because he was unable to read the situation better and to know when to pull back. I have always thought him to be a naturally empathic guy and considered that to be the key behind his variety success. He should have been able to see they were reaching a tipping point. I hope he reflects like they say in Korea and learns why he made her cry.

I am glad to see Yoon Jongshin apologized and I hope people will just stop fussing about this anymore. The reason why this became such a big issue is because each side keeps defending and offending each other.
If there is one thing I dislike from yesterday's Radio Star was that Kim Gura didn't seem like he felt apologetic or whatsoever. Kyuhyun, Kim Gukjin, and Yoon Jongshin at least did.
When Jiyoung cried and she was asked who made her cry in the first place, she pointed to Gura but Gura kept insisting that Yoon Jongshin made her cry, when Jiyoung said Gura was the one who kept poking her. Yoon Jongshin knew it was Gura but he still apologized to Jiyoung.
Kyuhyun and Hara alrdy apologized to each other but people here keep asking Kyuhyun to make another apology and Korean netizens keep asking Hara to make an apology. It just keeps going on and on.....

Honestly though, it was obvious that Kyuhyun was just messing around and making light of that situation.

I can understand why Hara is stressed because of all the unfair reporting about her.

But sliding the water bottle, standing up and yelling was not the okay way to handle the situation...

If she had acted mature and shown her anger and disapproval by clearly stating her position and saying that it's not okay to joke about it and that the media is out of hand, then the response would have been a lot different.

Yoon Jong Shin is great and actually all three other MCs are great people, Kim Gura can be funny in very little, heavily censored doses and otherwise he's an asshole who really has no regards for other people. A lot of people defending RS was saying "BUT THAT'S HOW RADIO STAR IS" but honestly just because that's what you expect from a tv program doesn't make it okay. I do agree that the jabs might have not been more serious that it was with other celebrities, but like Yoon Jong Shin said, everyone has a different limit. And we can't blame or shame Kara for that.

Also, just to copy-paste another comment I wrote about Netizenbuzz since Omonians are convinced that SK netizens are all terrible people, can you PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE understand that you guys are looking at a tiny portion of them, from Nate and Daum?
nate and daum that netizenbuzz takes comments from is basically overfilled with ilbe kids who share links on their site to go and take over the comment section by writing shitty comments and upvoting them. think it's ridiculous? google some of the news links and see how they trace back to an ilbe post. it's been done (and often) and it's been proven.
it's a portal site news article comment section, you don't expect a heap of insightful and gentle comments from Yahoo! news, do you? Nate isn't some big headline news agency that represents all of Korea. it really pisses me off that a lot of Omonians (and other intl kpop fans) rely on Netizenbuzz religiously when really the only thing it does to dig through the landfill to find the shittiest trash it can get.

It's like Internet as a whole in general, you can't expect people from Tumblr to think the same way as people from Reddit. It frustrates me because there's literally at least fifty communities I can think of that are pretty big and relevant to Korean Internet culture and they all have different opinions. Nate and Daum aren't even Internet communities, it's news agency comment sections.
