I love the almost haunting simplicity of this that works really well with a song like Heaven.

I tend to like altered versions of songs more than their original (U Super Junior in Mandarin was my jam because of the added bass line) and so I really hope they add to this what they didn't get to do in the original version.

I'm a little worried about her Japanese in all honesty. Her Korean is already pretty accented and she sings in an accented way to almost emphasize it so I'm thinking her Japanese will sound the same way. It might work in her favour with a song like Heaven or it could work against her, and make her sound .... really bad kpop in Japan.

EITHER WAY Ailee is flawless and will continue to reign!!! Can't wait to hear all of it!

I'm so happy that they aren't just using a translated recycled version. It even sounds like some of the phrasing might be different based on her humming in the beginning I'm so pumped. I feel like I'm waiting for a brand new song!
idk how well she'll do in Japan but I hope she gets to promote live and have a blast no matter what

Amen!

It's so nice when they change the arrangement, feels like a brand new song!
I liked when After School used to do it.

i don't get how this is smart at all considering japan has plenty of female singers.

I don't think they are aiming for the overall japanese population, but for the people that are already k-pop fans in the first place. In that case, it really doesn't matter how many other good singers Japan has.

the thing is, i doubt japanese kpop fans would really buy her music since most of them are idol group fans (moreso to boy groups). iu's sales should've been an indication and she is far more marketable in japan than ailee is.

I think it's worth it in the end. She's still probably going to sell more physical copies than she did in Korea with way less promotion costs. Debuting in Japan may seem like a waste of time, but overall even if you "flop" here, you will still make more money than what you would do if you did just okay in Korea. Ukiss, Supernova, Daikoku Danji are good examples of that.
