SPICA's Bohyung 'Didn't Have Enough Swag' To Debut As A Member of 2NE1
SPICA member Bohyung appeared on the OnStyle talk show Lee Hyori's X Unni this week and talked about how she was almost a member of 2NE1.
Bohyung is now a part of B2M Entertainment's five-member girl group SPICA, but way back when she was a trainee under YG Entertainment.
During her time as training under the tutelage of Yang Hyun Suk, Bohyung was in the running to be included as a member of the wildly popular girl group 2NE1.
However, she revealed that she was eventually cut from the group (which was still in the planning process at the time) and eventually left the YG label altogether.
When asked why she thinks she was ultimately removed from the 2NE1 lineup, Bohyung responded, "I think I didn't have enough swag."
She reflected on her conversation with the CEO many years ago explaining, "I was sitting alone in the practice room when Yang Hyun Suk came to me. It wasn't that I was short on talent, but he explained to me that my color was different."
But just because she was cut from 2NE1 did not mean she was forced out of the company completely. "He told me not to cry and to keep working hard. He supported me. I was a trainee for about a year after that," Bohyung reflected.
And while the singer never debuted under YG Entertainment, she did find her own path and fame elsewhere.
In 2012 Bohyung and her group SPICA made their official debut with the song "Russian Roulette."

Singer Lee Hyori became a real older sister to Spica's leader Boa.
In OnStyle "Lee Hyori's X Unnie" aired yesterday, Lee Hyori told the psychology test results to Spica's members. While talking about herself, leader Boa said, "I have nowhere to lean on."
Boa said, "I can't depend on my dad and neither can I lean on my younger sibling," tearing up. Boa had only been showing her strong sides as her leader, so many members were shocked.
Bohyung said, "I realized we didn't really know much about each other all this time. I'm sorry that we didn't realize you were so lonely."
Hyori said, "Think of someone you really want to show your stories to." Boa then said, "I want to show it to people but I don't know who." Then Hyori said, "I'm here. I'll look at them for you."

Spica's member Park Joohyun cried while cutting her hair.
In OnStyle "Lee Hyori's X Unnie" aired yesterday, Lee Hyori became Spica's visual director. Hyori suggested Park Joohyun get a short cut.
Joohyun decided to listen to Lee Hyori, but she cried as her hair was being cut.
But when the hair do was finished, everyone seemed happy with the results. Joohyun turned into a much more sophisticated and unique style.
Joohyun herself was satisfied as well.
