Lee Sang Soon proposes to Lee Hyori via video

Although Lee Hyori and Lee Sang Soon have already announced their plans for marriage, Lee Hyori wasn't officially proposed to until after they decided to spend their lives together. Luckily for fans, she shared a video of the magical moment!

Lee Hyori tweeted, "I was proposed to. hehe I will brag a bit^^." In the video of Lee Sang Soon's romantic proprosal, Lee Hyori's friends gave their congratulations and warm wishes for her to live a happily married life. Lee Sang Soon then popped the question, which Lee Hyori jokingly rejected by saying, "No." In the end, she accepted and even attempted to put the ring on herself in true Hyori fashion.

By discussing it like a normal couple. The whole proposing thing isn't the norm. I know only one person that had what you'd call a proposal.

I get that in Korea they view a "proposal" as some kind of special event, but at it's heart is what a proposal has always been... one person asking another person to marry them. I'd assume that at some point in the discussions of marriage, one of the parties needs to ask they other party "will you marry me?" before they actually set a date. I just don't understand the point of asking the question after the date is set.

i mean the amount of korean celebs that i read about proposing after sending wedding invitations is huge, the newest ones i can remember are haha and byul and lee min jung and lee byung hun.

I think it's just like when you've been together a long time, marriage talks are bound to come up in the relationship and you kind of naturally talk about your future with the assumption that you are gonna get married. Which isn't exactly romantic, more...practical, maybe? Expected? But she'd still want a proposal at some point. A lot of Asian culture revolve around family first, so sometimes the proposal is simply a formality after both sets of families has settled the wedding details.

But I personally would like a proposal first since I'm a romantic at heart, haha.

I'm not. I actually really like Hyori and I think she's cute with her boyfriend but it's very tacky to make such a spectacle out of your relationship for publicity (though I guess she feels the need to since her last album didn't do too hot despite her promoting about 5 different songs on it) It's only going to cause problems for them in the end, and her marriage probably won't last very long. That's why I wish she would keep this private. When celebrity couples use their relationships/marriage as a way to stay in the spotlight it never lasts.

I agree in way about celebrities talking so much about their relationship because it's embarrassing if they break up. And although I disagree about her using her relationship for publicity it's your opinion and that's fine. What's unnecessary is when you affirm "her marriage probably won't last very long."

I am so happy for her. To even get a proposal that is put together by your other half, that does not border to the typical dinner/date proposal is so amazing.

Hopefully all those young ladies of Kpop or other places that dont fit the norm of innocent pure virgin image or life style can find comfort that they can have that perfect prince that wouldnt judge their past years.

I personally am glad this was posted. At least those who say LSS is no good can see a little bit of what Hyori sees.
