Seohyun Cast in New SBS Drama ‘Passionate Love’

According to sources, Seohyun has been cast in the upcoming SBS weekend drama, “Passionate Love”, for the role of Han Yurim, the first love of the drama’s male lead, Kang Mooyeol.

Han Yurim, the character Seohyun will be playing, is a popular veterinary science university student with a smart brain, neat facial appearance, and warm heart. The male lead, a high school student, falls in love at first sight when he sees her and poses as a college student in order to date her. Eventually she becomes his star-crossed first love.

Seohyun previously made a cameo appearance along with the other members of Girls’ Generation in the 2008 KBS 2TV sitcom, “Unstoppable Marriage”, which featured members Yuri and Sooyoung as part of the regular cast. However, this is the first time Seohyun will be acting in a drama.

Seohyun’s character, Han Yurim, will appear in the first four episodes, but she will be a character who influences the overall flow of the story. Seohyun has garnered attention as to whether she will be able to prove her potential as an actress through her first acting attempt in this drama.

“Passionate Love” is a human-melodrama that draws out the story of a man and woman from two families who are tangled in tragedy. The two leads are planning on showing life’s emotions through the various people around them, success, and ruins. The drama will air in October after “Wonderful Mama” ends.

oh jeez, genuinely worried for her because acting isn't something you can study for until you perfect it. but will be giving her the benefit of the doubt because she's never been known to put less than 100% into anything she does

hey the girl has opened quite a bit from her ways during dangerous boys and she herself admitted her faults during the show, i do hope if she gets more projects in the future, they are different from herself.

she has said in the past that, that's kind of why she ventured into acting b/c you know she can only live life has herself, so she wants to experience many others things and point of views through acting. I figured she chose a role close to herself b/c first time project

but rme at all the hate comments on nb, like its four freaking episodes. I doubt if her acting is that atrocious, it will have a huge effect on the drama.

i feel like sm waited for too long to get all the non yoona members into acting, because now snsd is so big that i can't help but just see them as themselves on screen playing someone else, instead of being that character (the fact that sica and yuri are one of the worst idol actresses i've ever seen doesn't help either).

she's serious about acting and if people actually paid any attention she was the best out of them all when they trained with lee bumsoo. anyway she's not nearly as boring as the broken record brigade of idiots still hung up on those jokes are.

the role does sound like her but it's safer to start off with something you can pull off and ease people into another image than to try something femme fatale or whatever right away (which is the kind of roles she said she wants to do anyway). her image in korea too strong to jump into something too different w/o backlash. and if they're pressing her for the role, why say no? it's not a lead or even a hyped second lead, so it's the perfect foot in she's been looking for.
