Swings released the first diss track and instigated e-sens to speak up. Then afterwards the whole thing blew up with everybody making comeback tracks to swings and the fact that it involved a major group (dynamic duo) with a major issue.

Right now it's really not about anyone or anything tbh, people are just finding things to complain about to jump on the bandwagon. People are starting to think it's like some "revolution" in the Korean hip hop community.

As you stated, Kendrick Lamar released "Control" to call out rappers--a much needed kick in the ass for the industry since many MCs over here are getting by on just hype and gimmicks. His verse wasn't meant as a platform for rappers to start going after each other ala Biggie Smalls/Tupac. He, as you stated, was telling rappers to step their game up or GTFO.

The situation with E-sens/Gaeko/AC is more than just "step your game up or GTFO". Obviously, E-sens has major issues with his former company as well as with the guy he once trusted but now feels stabbed him in the back. E-sens and Gaeko's verses on "Control" weren't responses to 'step your game up' but rather diss tracks aimed at airing dirty laundry and throwing shade at people they feel slighted them. E-sens wasn't just griping about the problems in K-Hip Hop, he was gunning after Gaeko--the man he probably feels ruined his career at AC. Now, Swings' intention may have been to imitate Kendrick Lamar's challenge but the way he went after Simon D was not a challenge but obviously some kind of personal vendetta concerning the role he believes SD played in E-sens leaving AC. To me, the Swings/Sam D/Gaeko/E-sens/AC hotpot of drama is a whole separate issue from Kendrick Lamar's challenge.

That being said, I concede that you're probably right about other K-rappers merely using Kendrick Lamar's challenge as an opportunity to point out their issues with K-hip hop in general especially since the One Hip Hop Festival is right around the corner.
