Wooyoung, from the K-Pop band 2PM, jumped at the chance to join MTV EXIT in the fight against modern slavery. He lent his considerable star power to the cause by hosting the Korean version of MTV EXIT’s Enslaved, which tells the stories of real people affected by human trafficking in Korea and the region. In this compelling documentary, A-Ching, a young Vietnamese woman, is trafficked to Taipei as a forced sex worker; Cel, a young Filipina woman, is trafficked to Korea and forced to work as a nightclub hostess; and Lin, a young Vietnamese man, is trafficked to China to carry out hard labour in a brick factory.
This documentary was produced in partnership with USAID, AusAID, Walk Free, and the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family in the Republic of Korea.
OIN WOOYOUNG IN THE FIGHT TO END HUMAN TRAFFICKING
“It doesn’t matter if you are rich or poor, from the city or a village, anyone can be at risk of human trafficking. That’s why I joined forces with MTV EXIT to fight against it. Stand with us and be the generation that built a world without modern slavery.”
- Wooyoung
