She did a lot of interviews and a lot of them repeat the same thing over again so here's the relevant/important points from each one:


Intentionally avoided stereotypical sexy image

• "As there was a long period of absence, everyone gave a lot of concern over it as if it was their own job. Like, as compared to giving support to someone else it's more like showing affection. Including the company staff as well. Usually, whenever there is a music video shooting or jacket photo-shoot, unless they're part of the staff they would not come, but this time when I was shooting my music video and jacket photo-shoot, everyone came(laughs). As there are staffs that have seen me ever since I was young, so naturally there is some level of affection"


• "First, I have expected that kind of response to some extent. An ambiguous response like 'Will it go well?'. Actually when I was in the group I wasn't a member that would stand out, at the mention of 'Wonder Girls Sunmi', the thoughts that people would have is somewhat like maknae(youngest of group) and cute child. Then, I did not have any opportunity to show anything that I had as well, I was also confused and doubted the abilities that I have or not have. Surely the public wouldn't know it, hence when I was to make a return, I was wondering about what kind of image would they imagine about me."


• "24 hours is really not enough. Having to prepare, digest schedule and then practicing at night, there isn't much time to sleep. Then again, I can't seem to fall asleep. Occasionally even when I am given time to sleep, as I am too nervous, I am unable to fall asleep. I can't stop thinking continuously."

Filming of the Music Video took a total of 32 hours.

• "The concept itself is not burdensome. As it does not demand me to show a level of maturity that is older than me. I want to show the appeal of the sexiness of a woman that comes out after reaching the stage of 22 years old. These days when it comes to 'Sexy', there it a bit of stereotypical image. For example, long wavy hair with deep smoky make-up, risque clothes & eye expressions, high heels and etc. I wanted to avoid all of these. Therefore cutting my hair and throwing away my high heels, I will be performed barefooted (laughs)."


• "During the promotions for 'Nobody' and so on, I had heavy make-up on, but this time I'm having lighter make-up. In the music video, I did not even apply an eye-liner, or have to stick fake eyelashes on. It really brings out a natural image, so I felt awkward, really. Somewhat like, a bare feeling? (laughs). I would like to try to show a fresh feeling that only belongs to me."


• "In December last year, Park Jinyoung-ssi said, 'I have picture of you in my head' to me. Then, I showed him videos of me doing various kinds of dance and music. After watching that, Park Jinyoung-ssi wrote a song and asked me to come over and listen, so I went. At the time, Park Jinyoung-ssi said to me, 'ss long as you are ready, this song can go out any-time."


• "Honestly, if you say that it is shocking, it could have been more shocking. However, Park Jinyoung-ssi judged that that at my age instead of exaggerating, using a natural appeal has more persuasive power and it will not be met be repulsion. Personally, I wanted to exaggerate it a little bit more but I did not, because PD-nim said to 'show it gradually'."


• "While I was practicing, I realized how much I liked singing on stage. Previously, to a certain extent, I wasn't assured on, 'Í like this, I will do well with this'. But this time, I am sure of it. So much as I knew how it felt when i was unable to do what I wanted to do then."

Withdrawal? It is just a suspension of activities.

When I asked Sunmi, "Why did you withdrawn from Wonder Girls?", she replied "It isn't a withdrawal but a suspension of activities" by reflex.
At a very young age I became a singer. With activities for "Tell Me," "So Hot," and "Nobody" in the United States, there was never a time for a break. Thankfully, we received lots of love from the public. However, at one point, I realized I was going on stage as if I were a robot--with no soul. I started off as a singer because I genuinely enjoyed it, but when it became work for me I was caught off guard. I didn't want to be a singer for just 3-4 years. My dream is to be an artist for a long period of time like J.Y. Park and Uhm Jung Hwa sunbae. But my desires were gone and my emotions started to disappear. I knew that if this continued to go on, I would not be able to become a talented person. I needed time to reflect on myself.

• "Wonder Girls is my roots and home.", "Whenever the opportunity arises, I would definitely want to work together with my Wonder Girls members."


• "Wonder Girls is undeniably my roots. It is just that, starting with me, the other members who also share the same roots will also split up to do individual activities eventually. There is not much difference as doing group activities."


• "It is already the 7th year since Wonder Girls debuted. Each and everyone of us has different capacity and different plans for the future. The things that we was unable to discover during that 7 years, we are beginning to do it now.". "But of course everyone of us do not forget that Wonder Girls is our roots", "But of course, If I was given the opportunity, my wish to work together as Wonder Girls is huge."

Wonder Girls Comeback? It is a possibility

• "During the course of preparation for my solo debut, the Wonder Girls members was a big help to me.", "Although Sunye unnie is pregnant it is tiring for her body, she advised me to go crazy on stage. Yubin and Yeeun unnie helped in creating the Music Video concept and dance positively.", "Same aged Sohee, despite her busy schedule filming her drama, from time to time she would send me supportive messages".


• "As everyone is curious if I will return to Wonder Girls, I think the possibility is open. Simply, the members are all doing individual activities at the moment, I think it is an important stage for us to also find out what we want to do individually. That way, when we stand together as Wonder Girls again, we can display a stronger strength as well."

Coming back not as the 'Wonder Girls' Sunmi' but 'Solo Sunmi'

• The reason for minimal costume is so that people can focus more on the dance.


• Yubin was the first person to give advise on the costume, and then JYP took care of the details.


• Dance wear for contemporary dance style was picked. Accessories are also removed as much as possible.


• Sunmi usually doesn't eat between meals but she always have proper meals. More than aerobic workouts, she's focused more on weight training.


• The dance is choreographed by a combination of JYP's choreographing team leader, Kim Hwayoung ('Tell Me', 'Nobody'), Contemporary dance element Kim Hyerang, choreographer of Beyonce's 'Single Ladies', and Mnet 'Dancing 9' participant Lee Juyoung.


• All the various parts was then put together as one by JYP. He even went to America personally to learn the dance and came back.

"The part when it switches to a tango rhythm in the middle of the bridge has a strong impact. I focused on practicing that part so I feel that I will be able to express it well."

Music Video was filmed on 27th last month at Namyangju city in Gyeonggi Province with just one set. Filming took a total of 32 hours to complete but she did not drink Americano or energy drinks.

Dramatic twist in the song. In the beginning, the woman who does not know anything about love at all finds out that she is in love with a guy. So, innocent facial expressions was shown. After that, the twist happens when the Tango Rhythm comes in, the facial expression changes completely.

The choreography demands a lot as it has a high level of difficulty, so this is not an easy song to be performed.

"It would be a lie if I say that performing it live would be easy. In the meantime, while practicing continuously I am putting in effort to fix my weak points."

she is such a wise kid, i love her answers.

this made me realise how much i missed her.

also jype seems to be handling and promoting her solo debut properly, thank god, unlike with the previous acts.

it is so good for her to have taken this break to reassess her career. it was probably really hard too cuz of the other girls but i'm glad everybody seems to support her. so i'm totally looking forward to all of this!

I'm really glad all the girls are getting the chance to focus on themselves and their ambitions. They all seem to be doing well in their fields. What I like about WG as a group is that they seem to focus on the big picture and don't take decisions lightly. There's a broader plan here, even though it might not always seem that way on the outside, everything they experience, good or bad, strengthens Wonder Girls as artists and as people. I can't wait for "24 Hours".
