Date: 2013-08-06 03:13 pm (UTC)If it's a global/Western-centric topic (the most recent post about blackface instances in kpop, which is most historically relevant and discussion-provoking to a US/EU bg), then it would make sense it would pass into ONTD. Same for stars that happen to be in Korea breaking into the U.S. market. However, the independent movements of idol artists has a dedicated place.
EDIT: In regards to POC, I believe the writing between the lines is that they want POC that are either a) part of the western base they seem to be based on OR b) are breaking into that western base. (again, exception being those special posts)
I guess the key is to understand where ONTD is based (the west), and that Korean/Japanese idols are different from actors and musicians that operate outside of the idol industry. I think ONTD wants to distinguish in that way so they won't have that problem of massive amounts of posts about PVs etc.
(correct me if i'm wrong about anything! also, everything otherwise is pure speculation on my part :D)

The OP has made their own ONTD_MENA now but it's frustrating to see other minorities not get accepted. Honestly, because of this, I feel like we're better looking at posts in their own respective communities than on ONTD. :/

Honestly, I'm not even gonna blame them for going up against him like that. They had a right to post there if posts like Kpop, Jpop & even Bollywood are accepted.
But oh well tho. I guess since it's become apparent that they won't be allowing Asian posts anymore so I guess that doesn't matter anymore.
