EXO Fans Get Banned From Fanclub Area In Inkigayo

EXO fans are now officially banned from having fandom access at SBS' 'Inkigayo'.

SM Entertainment relayed the bad news to EXO fans through EXO's official board, saying,

The live broadcast on August 4th will air the pre-recording on August 1st, and EXO is also planning to stand on the live broadcast stage.

Usually, even after the pre-recording, if there is a live stage, there would be fanclub tickets, but starting this week, we have been told that EXO fans will not be admitted as a fanclub for both pre-recordings and live shows.


This is because even though fans were asked to stop jaywalking and were asked to follow the security and staff orders, dangerous actions such as jaywalking, taking over the streets, and chasing the artists' and causing others to frown upon those who were holding the EXO cheer equipment continued.

There are already multiple complaints at the public office and at the police station.
It is not just 'Inkigayo'. Every time at other music shows, EXO fans would not respond to staff instructions during entering, leaving, and recording. Fans also took photos and recorded videos [even though it's not allowed] during recording, and after the recording, fans would jump into the road to wait and run after the car. Even though EXO fans have received many penalties such as being denied access to the recording or having the number limited, we are disappointed because the fans' actions have not changed.

For the fans who are attending other broadcast recordings, not only as the fanclub but also as a regular audience members, if you have come to cheer on EXO, please follow the station's rules. In the future, please follow the staff's instructions no matter what.

We once again ask for the fans' active cooperation, so that we do not have to say this again in the next announcement. Thank you.


Fanclubs get access first inside the station and they get the closest seats or the access to the standing area, so if EXO fans are banned from the fanclub area, this means they'll have to watch EXO from the seats further back - and also that EXO won't get to see their fans up close.

Hmmm.... this incident has creepily reminded me of the Cassies of old (a lot netizens were comparing the fanbase to HOT / DBSK). The problem is that SM has for some reason refused to organize this massive fandom they've created. EXO fans need structure above all else since they tend to skew younger and they obviously can't do it amongst themselves. It may sound stupid and unhelpful but giving them a fan name and creating like a central online cafe / fandom hub I think will go MILES to improve the current situation.

But just LOL at people thinking this is the first time things like this have happened (the tumblr fangirl tears have been PROFUSE), I mean this is not unheard of unfortunately and EXO will not be the first or last group to have a scary fan club. They need to get their act together (preferably immediately), but it's not gonna happen organically....

Getting an entire fandom banned from one of the music shows is a pretty big deal, isn't it? I've never heard of them all being banned from fan seating. And tbh it's pathetic that only an outside agency is taking measures to curb the crazy - SM should be dealing with their own fanbases.

Omg...EXO fans are not making a good name for themselves. One of the members should address the behaviour, maybe then the fans will listen. I remember VIXX fans got a bit rowdy once and Leo posted a message explaining to them why their behaviour was wrong and dangerous and I don't think there's been problems since then.

They really should formally address it. I'm surprised they didn't after big incidents like one of them getting injured at the airport and Tao showering (although I think Tao did mention it).
Although I'll never forget how pissed off Baekhyun looked after the airport incident. Fans should have really realized then that it's not going to fly with the boys.

it was horrible that Henry got punished for Exo's fans previous behavior because he was part of SMe when his fans were limited or banned (can't remember which one it was.)

part of me thinks SMe likes the crazy fans because they do nothing but pander to them, or hire security guards/managers to hit fans (there was a recently incident, i think with SJ, with a guard pushing a fan). SMe needs to lay the smackdown with fans of all their groups about their behavior.

and personally i think all the airport times when they are traveling should not be leaked. i know it is free PR, but that can get crazy.

What happened with SJ? AFAIK they haven't had any incidents with fans at airports for a while (unless you mean the camera lens accident). When I think of managers hitting fans I think of the EXO clip.

urgh, I really hate this. I wish sment would address this? The boys could too, but I'm pretty sure if fans cared what the boys felt like, they wouldn't assault them at airports. Also makes me sick knowing that to sment this is a sign of success, and they encourage this shit like no other.

Also whenever I see accounts like this I lol, because people always gets pressed that Kai isn't here for fans when he's offstage, most of that is just the fact he isn't into that aspect of idoldom, but I'm also pretty sure him, and the other members of Exo for that matter are weary of their own fans.

This is the kind of stuff that adds to the pressure of being an idol, and then breaking up, but I guess sment doesn't give a damn because boy groups have an expiry date. lmao I'm so mad.
