BoA to Lead Her First Drama with Choi Daniel

After reports came out on July 16  that singer BoA has been cast in her first Korean drama, SM Entertainment stated that it was not confirmed. Now, on July 19 KST, there are new reports that confirm her casting.

BoA will play the lead female role in a special KBS 2TV 2-episode drama “Expect Dating” (tentative English title). She will act opposite Choi Daniel.

“Expect Dating” will frankly portray the love lives of people in their 20s and 30s with humor and sincerity. BoA will play the character of  Joo Yeon Ae, who has the bad luck of only dating” bad guys.”

“Expect Dating” PD, Lee Eun Jin, stated, “I’ve been charmed by BoA’s serious passion and her strong will to do her best in the drama. I am looking forward to seeing BoA as an actor. I think we will be able to see a new side of BoA as an actor.”

“Expect Dating” is expected to air in September.

i find it so weird that after so many years she started to act.

i wish that she didn't, but i hope this won't be like hyori or seven's drama and that she will break the sm idol actors 'curse' (but saying that sm is not producing it i high hopes).

she didn't really have a lot of time to act before.. she was continuously releasing stuff between japan and korea. I feel like she's more "in charge" of her career now though. which is why she is now getting to do all these stuff that she wanted to do eg producing, acting, etc

ngl im a bit skeptical. her cameo in athena was a bit stiff and i have yet to hear anything about make your move, but im sending good vibes her way. i know shes been wanting to try other things.
