Wow I really enjoyed this one, probably one of my fav choreos from him. I think Jay has a real distinct way of moving, anddddd this song is growing on me lol.
lol same. i really wish he'd just focus on this and not like...talk (lol)
i seriously figured he didn't want to go back to like, renton as a mechanic but then he says some awful fuckshit, react poorly to criticism about it, and you're like "bruh..."
lol. that was legit the funniest thing. he was ranting on twitter and fb over it and i'm like a normal person would have just taken it down quickly without a fuss! like he was legit pressed over ppl being patient and explaining shit to him!
like, idegi i watched his song writing show and he was a charming human. then i see him on twitter sometimes and hear that mix tape and i'm all 'dood what are you on'
i've been to renton. if i were him, i'd legit sell my soul to never return there lol.
and he needs to shut up about things that don't concern him. He retweeted someone saying 'Not about RACE..simply about justice my G!' about the Zimmerman case. Like, who asked you? You're not black. You have no skin in the game. This colorblind bs
I really apologize if I'm being ignorant. I'm from Peru and know general facts about the Zimmerman case and I would appreciate if you can enlight me about this. So his retweet means that he supports the veredict or that he is against it? Jay's bestfriends are Afroamerican and hispanics and he himself is a minority (Asian American) and from your post I understand you don't like him to have an opinion on the matter but I suppose things are more deeper than this so I really wish you can elaborate about this.
- I think he's against the verdict, but saying it's not about race is wrong on a lot of levels. Black men (and increasingly, black women too) are targeted frequently because people tend to stereotype black people as criminals, thugs, dangerous, etc. Every 28 hours, a black person is murdered by a vigilante citizen (like Zimmerman) or the cops. Most likely, it's the cops and they hardly, if ever, will get punished for it. http://mxgm.org/operation-ghetto-storm-2012-annual-report-on-the-extrajudicial-killing-of-313-black-people/
It's not white children and adults that are being murdered carelessly and to say otherwise ignores the real problem: how racism in the USA is responsible for black people being hunted down and killed and then convincing people, with the help of the media, that it was our fault.
- Being friends with POC (people of color, minorities) doesn't excuse you from being a racist.
- Yes, Jay is Asian himself, but being of East Asian descent, there is no stereotype (that I know of) that would make white people or cops afraid of Jay because he's Korean like they would someone Black. Men of East Asian descent are usually stereotyped as weak, funny (to laugh at), nerdy, having a small penis, can't drive, easy to bully, etc. And when you're emasculated, it's hard to be seen as a threat. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stereotypes_of_East_Asians_in_the_United_States#Emasculation_and_asexuality
- It's not like I can forbid him from giving his opinion, but that opinion can have consequences. Seeing people brush off racism and act like it's not a factor in this case pisses me off. As I mentioned earlier, murders like Trayvon happens frequently to black people, not to someone like Jay.
I'm in shock. I just found out that motherf*cker was of Peruvian descendant. I'm so ashamed. And of course being friends of POC doesn't excuse you from being racist. I didn't mean it like that. I think that being part of a minority can get you closer to other minorities and their problems and sterotypes, specially in Jay's case who was part of the hip hop community since he was 12. If Jay, with that backgroung and having grown up with Afroamericans having them among his closest circle of friends, doesn't aknowledge how f*cked up things are in his own country, the sterotypes POC have to face, the racial factor in the murders they are victim of like in this case, then he's a real son of a A@# and he has no excuses.
However, before we get to that conclussion I think that we have to consider that he retweeted @Acehood, who being an Afroamerican rapper/producer himself has endured all the crap POC face everyday as I read in some of his interviews.
Reading Acehood's tweets you can see that he talks how differently things would have been if Trayvon was the killer, making clear the jury's own racism on their veredict. So when @Acehood tweeted "Not about RACE..simply about justice my G!" IMO, I don't think he's brusshing of racism as a factor in the crime. For the context of his tweets I think he refers to the jury's own racism and that the trial shouldn't being biased by the jury own racism but justice should come first.
Here are his tweets and thank you for taking your time to explain things.
Yeah, I saw the tweets before. And I know he's Black which still doesn't excuse him tweeting that or Jay re-tweeting it. I still don't understand how he can go from "no justice in this white mans world" (which Jay didn't re-tweet btw) to saying it's not about race.
Being a Black person myself, you're not always in the know about racism and the different ways it can affect you. Every since we were enslaved by whites, we have been condemned for simply being Black. Our skin tone, our hair, the way we talk, our religions, our food, etc. Basically everything that makes us different from white people, we have been mocked for (this is why Black kpop fans don't like blackface or culture appropriation). In turn, some Black people have figured it's best to shun their own culture, mock their own race, make light of Black people's struggle. LL Cool J's recent country collaboration comes to mind. He was called out by Black people about what he said in the song.
But unfortunately, some Black people are like this and are in ~*~ colorblind, post-racial, let's hold hand, la la land ~*~. But it's not going to solve the real problem of racism in the first place.
Yeah, I know what you mean. I didn't want to pull an "oppa didn't mean it" crap or excuse his ignorance just because he retweeted a Black person. Honestly, my first interpretation of @Acehood's tweet was different from yours, maybe because I was misleaded by his previous tweets and he being so vocal about POC struggles that it din't cross my mind that he was brusshing off the racial factor in the case.
I know the polarization this have caused and smh if Jay actually believes that race had nothing to do in the case. Praying for his ignorant soul if that is the case tbh. I wonder why he or @Acehood werent called out the hell of them about this.
By your logic, those who are not black should not concern themselves with black issues, problems, or controversies. Since Jay is not black, he should not have an opinion on the matter. Even went on calling him a racist?
However, in your posts it seems to me that you wanted people to see and understand the plight of black people.. How they are being targeted of constant abuse, racism, etc.
I find it hypocritical of you of wanting Jay, a non-black, to shut up about "black matters" yet you expect people to have a deeper understanding on the reality that black people still experience today.
Hahaha, I didn't call him a racist Get some reading comprehension, child
How is that hypocritical? So I said that someone who is NOT black to not go around saying that a black teenager being hunted down and murdered wasn't about race. Imagine that. /sarcasm
"Being friends with POC (people of color, minorities) doesn't excuse you from being a racist."
It's hypocritical because you seemed to be so passionate about this issue, yet, when someone takes a stand, forms an opinion, or show an agreement to another person's opinion on the matter, you tell them to shut up just because he is not black. It seems to me you don't want to hear non-black people's opinion just because of their color yet here you are harping about the unfair treatment of black people in the society.
You take this whole thing so seriously without even looking into the whole context. Jay retweeted one tweet of Acehood but that tweet was in context with all of Acehood's previous tweet.
I think J.P. is a natural dancer with a unique style who's been trained to perfection. Taeyang just seems trained? He has specific moves he always goes to like the dougie when he isn't doing BB specific choreo. Taeyang is really really good, but Jay Park is better.
ugh, I fucking love this choreography, prepix is killing it. Jaybum is killing it. I'm not too sure if he's going on music stages to promote, but if he is I can't wait to see it.
