ICON (No Minwoo) releases "Rock Star" video teaser

Former TRAX member and actor No Minwoo will be making a return to the music industry under the stage name ICON. On June 28th, No Minwoo released the first video teaser for his upcoming single album, "Rock Star."

Recorded in black and white, No Minwoo coolly walks up to the camera, a guitar sling across his shoulder. He slowly begins to string a beat on his guitar before playing an upbeat Miyavi-type rhythm.

"Rock Star" was directly produced by No Minwoo, and was able to freely express his fashion, music and design into the single.

No Minwoo will release his new single "Rock Star" on July 1st.

Don't quote me on it, but pretty sure they met back during TRAX and have kept in contact since. I vaguely remember Miyavi mentioning him a few times and vice versa.

I think the weirdest Jrock to Kpop crossover I know of that you could quore me on is Hongki and Hiroto of alice nine. Wait wait, no, nevermind, LeeU and Takeru of SuG. ...Wonder if Jaejoong ever hangs with Takeru. That'd be a mindfuck. /rambling at 2AM

.......my inner Miyavi fangirl is really conflicted because just. If you watch the Selfish Love MV (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wE-xjp8Ofew), it's not comparable. Just. Not.

I've only gone to one real concert in my whole life and that was to see Miyavi perform, and he was freaking insane. Other people just make love to their guitar; he fucks it hard.

Minwoo has that Miyavi vibe, but it's just. It's just not.

I don't care about the comparisons. Miyavi is a peer and friend Noh MinWoo respects (I'm swear I've read about their interactions a number of times over the years), and Miyavi isn't the only one to play in this style. Bottom line for me is that Noh MinWoo is an insanely talented musician. Seriously, the man is flawless and can do everything. In the entire world of K-entertainment (talking music AND dramas/movies), he is the one I freak out most over. I'm beyond excited that he's moving back into music again. I cannot wait for the full track!
