Helping their little sister out, miss A’s Suzy and Jia stepped up to help promote Baek A Yeon’s upcoming comeback.

On June 12, Baek A Yeon released a short teaser for her new song, A Good Boy. In the teaser, Suzy and Jia ponder over a poster that reads, ‘A Bad Girl, A Good Girl’ and ‘A Bad Boy, A Good Boy,; referring to miss A’s debut song, Bad Girl, Good Girl.

The confusion on their faces subsides as Suzy and Jia hand the posters to Baek A Yeon, who reveals that her song will be called A Good Boy.

The song will be released on June 17.

miss A's Fei and Jia are doing their part to help out the victims of the Sichuan earthquake.

CJ E&M revealed, "miss A's Fei and Jia are ambassadors for the Chinese puppet exhibition 'Shadow Play'. They're planning to donate their profits from their ambassador roles to the victims of the Sichuan earthquake. On May 16, they'll be meeting the audience of 'Shadow Play' personally and donate all of their profits. Since CJ E&M are the hosts, we are planing to also donate relief goods".

On April 20, over 200 people died and over 11,000 were injured from the 7.0 magnitude earthquake in Sichuan, China. Fei and Jia said, "We want to be at least a small strength to all the people who are in pain from the unexpected disaster."

★ Unveiling Miss A by Reporter Suzy!

Hi, I’m Suzy from Miss A. At last, we are starred at Star Column! And I, , have taken on the role of reporter. Starting now, I will retrace Miss A’s footsteps to this point. Let’s begin!

Suzy: As you all know, we are a ‘global girl group’ Miss A. Our members are very unique. Fei and Jia are from China and Min-young is from the US. I came to Seoul from my very proud hometown Gwang-ju. It’s quite amazing that we are all on the same team. Now, first question! Miss A’s eldest member Fei, how did you first come to Korea?

Fei: Wow, that was awkward! Do you know that you look totally hilarious?

Suzy: Oh, well, that’s not the problem. Please answer the questions that I’ve asked. Speaking in formal manner is a must for a reporter.

Fei: So we HAVE to do it like this…? Um… Ever since I was little I always wanted to get on stage. I never thought of anything else although I never dreamt that I’d ever become a major celebrity Miss A.

Suzy: What about you Jia?

Jia: My answer is pretty similar to Fei’s. I always dreamt of becoming a singer. I wanted to perform on stage for the people that adored me. That was my dream.


Break time during the reporting hour. New challenges are definitely hard. Oops, I’m not sure if I’m allowed to disclose everyone looking so unguarded.

Suzy: How did you get into JYP?

Fei: By chance I got to know a female staff of JYP entertainment. It was when I was attending dance school at Guangzhou. I met the female staff and took audition right then and got accepted. To think of it now, it was quite a dramatic first encounter.

Jia: The person who met with Fei was the staff who scouted me. The opportunity was priceless. The dream opportunity, unimaginable for some, had come my way. I got on a flight to Korea, which I never imagined I would be doing. Actually, it’s not easy to make a debut as a singer in China.

Fei: That’s right. It’s really difficult to become a singer in China. A lot of people sing well in China and there is not a systematic ‘training system’. I considered making a debut in China but because of these factors I had given up. I feel I had made a really good decision in choosing to come to Korea.

Suzy: Even so, I imagine, it would have been quite a difficult decision to come to Korea.

Jia: Coming to Korea from China wasn’t easy. I did worry whether it was a ‘scam’ of some sort. My grandfather from my mother’s side tried to dissuade me from going to Korea by saying, “Even if you scream after you’ve been scammed, no one will help you in South Korea.” But I had Fei, I was young and full of passion so I decided to just go for it.


We are Miss A! Do you think we can get by without men?

Suzy: Ok. So, Min-young, what about you? Was your stay in the US difficult?

Min: I also had a rather rough time. At first, I was preparing to make a debut in America. I entered JYP through Mr. Park Jin-young’s prodigy project and left for the US in 2003. I stayed at dormitories and did home stays. Actually the agency promised me a visit to Korea every 6 months but I wasn’t able to go to Korea for 4 years.

Suzy: You must have been very lonely at the US!

Min: It was difficult at first because I was so young. But I got adjusted to American culture as I started going to American school. I spent approximately 8 years in America before coming back to Korea. At the time, because I was so used to the US, I felt kind of out of place in South Korea.

Fei: I remember when I first saw Min-young. I was really impressed. Her dancing and singing was utterly amazing. I think Min-young was a big part in the jumpstart that Miss A enjoyed. I heard there was a lot of media attention because she was a part of Mr. Park’s prodigy project.

Suzy: That’s right! As we all know, there were doubts over whether ‘Bad girl Good girl’ will become a success but thanks to Min-young, Miss A got a lot of attention. I think Miss A was able to come to where it stands at this point because we had a promising start thanks to Min-young.

Min: Yes, I remember meeting the rest of the members. The first time I met Fei and Jia was when I popped into Korea during my stay in the US. I watched the practices and we shared pleasantries but I never imagined that we’d be in the same group. It was quite unexpected. I had my concerns because we had different nationalities and there was a language barrier. However, I came to realize that we had great chemistry and bring out positive energy from each other. All of us have improved since the beginning and we no longer have language issues.

Suzy: What about me?

Min: Suzy looked stunning from the beginning. Even though her training period was rather short, I knew our team would do well because she did not hold the team down at all. When people started to say she is the definition itself of ‘the girl next door’ after Suzy appeared on the movie and TV series, I felt really proud. As Suzy’s popularity soared, so did Miss A’s. Suzy is truly a ‘jewel’ of Miss A.

Suzy: Wow, you’re making me dizzy with all those compliments. Ok, because we cannot go without my take on the rest of the members’ impression, I’ll talk of my experience. I saw the rest of the members when I was at the middle of my training. As you know, my training period was short but a wonderful opportunity came by, enabling me to become part of Miss A. At the time, it wasn’t easy for me to make conversation. I thought it was only a matter of time before the rest of my current crew would make a debut and that thought made the members look like people living in a totally different world.

Jia: Oh! I don’t think you found us difficult!

Suzy: It’s true! I was really surprised when I got the news that I’d make my debut as part of Miss A. I thought I was far below other members’ level. I was so happy and I could not believe that everything was happening. Yet at the same time, I worried whether I will be able to keep up and do a good job and whether I’d get along with the rest of the members. I had a lot on my mind. But these days, I’m glad to say that don’t have any worries and I get on wonderfully with the members! Now that we’ve entered the Chinese music industry I rely more on Fei and Jia! These days I can really feel the level of our popularity in China. I feel totally confident with my team next to me.

Suzy: Today, Miss A is a prominent k-pop female group representing Korea. It’s kind of embarrassing but it’s OK to say that we are, right? It’s been a while since we left home and have somewhat adjusted our lives as celebrities, what are your opinions on that?

Jia: Although I’ve adjusted to Korea, I still miss China a lot. When the image of my family pops up in my thoughts, I feel saddened. The bright side is that because there is Fei, thus 2 Chinese in the group, we can depend on and be there for each other. If I had been the only Chinese, I think I would have had rough times.

Fei: At times, I really miss my mother’s cooking. I miss my brother. I went to school in a different city from when he was born so I was not able to do much for him. I only went back twice a year. And now I’m in a different country. There’s nothing I can do but miss him. I really feel sorry because I wasn’t there for him.

Min: Actually leading the life as a celebrity is much harder than what people normally think. When I get to the car after a hectic schedule, I miss my family a lot. But because of our status I cannot just decide to go out. I think you have to harden yourself for this profession.

Suzy: I totally agree with Min-young. And these days, because there are so many k-pop idols with multiple talents that we feel pressured to do better. Come to think of it, I don’t know how I would survive under all these stress had it not been for my dream as well as the support from the fans!

Jia: I think you have to lose something to gain something else. You cannot have everything. We chose our profession and we are happy about our decisions. I still think it’s really thrilling to stand on stage as Miss A.

Fei: I think every day is a day for big smiles because I have my members who are like my family. Sometimes, I wonder if I deserve such great love from the fans. But at the same time, I feel inspired to try harder to do my best.

Fei From the popular girl group Miss A grabbed the attention of the public by winning MBC’s sports dance competition ‘Dancing with the Star 3’ and coming in the second place in Olive’s cooking competition program ‘Master Chef Korea Celebrity’ during the first half of 2013. Miss A member Fei, who has gained solid recognition as winner and runner up in a dancesport program and a cooking survival program, spoke of her wish to make a solo album.

In a recent interview with OSEN, Fei revealed that, “Miss A is a really precious team for me. But if I have the chance I would love to release a solo album with my own voice that’s different from miss A’s.”

She continued that “it’s not a cheerful, cute, and pure sound. I want to capture a unique charm through an album project that even I haven’t discovered completely. I want to know how far my possibilities lie.”

On the different activities of each miss A member which include Suzy as a fellow cast member of Lee Seung-gi in MBC Monday/Tuesday drama Gu Family Book she said, “I think we all have our own paths to take. I never thought I would be participating in such diverse survival programs this year and earn the love and support of so many people.”

In fact Fei beat rock singer Kim Kyung-ho on the May 31 airing of MBC’s Dancing with the Stars Season 3 to hold first place in the show. She was also runner-up in the star cooking survival program MasterChef Korea Celebrity.

Fei has been receiving a lot of love as her “dancing machine heroine” status from MBC’s “Dancing With The Stars.“

Fei has reportedly, once again, showed off her rhythmic dance moves during this particular photo shoot. The photo of Fei up close with her eyes closed especially captures her energy and passion for music and dance.

Fei sported a fresh look for clubbing with a coral orange lipstick, thick and smoky black eyeliner and a dark blue pigment eyeshadow. The makeup perfects her youthful yet charismatic atmosphere.

Talking about her family in China, miss A’s Fei revealed that her younger brother didn’t know about her celebrity status.

On May 30’s broadcast of KBS’ Happy Together, Fei appeared as a guest, where she began talking about her family back in China. MC Yoo Jae Suk asked Fei about if she had any siblings, and Fei replied that she has one younger brother in junior high school.

Not only did she reveal that her younger brother looks just like her, Fei surprised the MC panel and guests by saying that he didn’t know she was a miss A member. “He just found out recently.”

Fei has been a miss A member since 2010.

Meanwhile, Fei also won the ‘Midnight Snack’ segment with her special dumpling dish.

Recently, during the interview that took place at the pictorial photoshoot for fashion magazine “Singles,” group miss A’s Fei revealed her thoughts on co-member Suzy’s fame.

The question asked was if the other members of miss A feel jealous over Suzy’s much greater popularity. Fei answered, “In every group, there is always a member who is more loved than others. If we think too much about things like this, it becomes too hard for all.”

Fei continued honestly, “I truly believe that everyone has their own path to follow.”

When also asked about her dating style, Fei replied, “I am the type that requires a lot of attention and care from the boyfriend. Perhaps it is because my blood type is B, but I can be very emotional.”

miss A's Fei threw the ceremonial first pitch for the Doosan Bears!

She was invited to the Doosan Bears versus KIA Tigers baseball game that was held on April 30 at the Seoul Jamshil Stadium.

Fei showed off her good pitching form as she threw a successful first pitch that flew towards the catcher instead of planting straight on the ground or throwing too high, and was all smiles for the audience. The announcer for the broadcast noted that Fei looks good in anything she wears including an apron, high heels, or sportswear. They also noted that idols these days are very athletic as proved by Fei's successful throw.

miss A's Suzy and Song Joong Ki have been chosen as the celebrities who fans want to kiss most on Kiss Day (June 14 in Korea)!

Social dating service I-Um conducted a survey asking 1010 men and women in their twenties and thirties, "Which celebrity do you most want to receive a kiss from on Kiss Day?"

In the bachelor category, Song Joong Ki came out on top with 30%, Kim Soo Hyun in 2nd (25%), Jo In Sung in 3rd (16%), Kim Nam Gil in 4th (13%), Song Seung Hun in 5th (7%), Yoo Ah In in 6th (5%), and Lee Seung Gi came 7th (4%).

In the female category, Suzy effortlessly stole the hearts of the majority for 1st place with a whopping 42%, Son Ye Jin came in 2nd (17%), Lee Min Jung in 3rd (16%), Girls' Generation's YoonA in 4th (10%), Shin Se Kyung in 5th (9%), Kim Tae Hee in 6th (5%), Song Hye Kyo in 7th (1%).

Currently starring in MBC’s Gu Family Book, Lee Seung Gi and miss A’s Suzy decided to send messages of support to her co-star’s father. On June 12, SBS’ Good Morning focused on actor Jo Jae Yoon, who is acting in Gu Family Book as street gang leader, Ma Bong Chool.

During the filming, Jo Jae Yoon played around with Suzy, making the actor compliment her.

“She’s really pretty. She’s not the nation’s little sister for nothing,” said Jo Jae Yoon, who later regretted that he will never have a love line with Suzy. Suzy said if there was a love line, she would be more than willing, making Lee Seung Gi laugh at them.

Later, when Jo Jae Yoon asked the cast of Gu Family Book to send a birthday message to his ailing father, who recently turned 70 years old, Lee Seung Gi and Suzy were more than ready.

“I hope you always stay healthy and live happily for many, many years,” said Lee Seung Gi.

“Father, I love you!” said Suzy. “Cheer up! I’m here supporting you, so I hope that you will gain strength. Fighting!” Upon seeing Suzy’s face, Jo Jae Yoon’s father broke into a big smile.

With dating on many college students’ minds, actor Song Joong Ki and the Nation’s First Love Suzy were recently selected as the number one celebrities they’d like to go on a date with on Coming-of-Age Day.

Job listings website Alba Heaven ran a poll asking users which male and female stars they’d like to go on a surprise date with on Coming-of-Age Day, and miss A’s Suzy ranked number one among male college students, while Song Joong Ki came in first among female college students.

Suzy garnered 41 percent of the votes, beating out 4minute’s Hyuna, and Girls’ Generation (SNSD)’s Yoona, who earned 19 percent and 13.2 percent, respectively.

The competition was much closer among the male celebs, with Song Joong Ki earning 26.8 percent of votes, while Kim Soo Hyun came in second place with 25.9 percent and Lee Seung Gi in third place with 16.4 percent.

There’s no shortage of gorgeous girl group members in K-Pop, but which idol is a true doll?

Beauty brand Regen Cosmetics took to the streets of Seoul’s Gangnam Station from May 1 to 15 to ask women in their 20s which girl group member they considered to be the ‘Ultimate Porcelain Doll.’

The results of the poll, which gathered over 598 responses, crowned Suzy, who collected 48.3 percent of votes, as the ultimate porcelain doll, while Kara’s Goo Hara followed in second with 25.2 percent and f(x)’s Krystal in third with 24.l2 percent.

A rep from Regen Cosmetics shared, “Many women are benchmarking girl group members these days. They have a lot of interest in beauty. There’s a lot of interest in girl group members’ skin and makeup. You need to have nice skin in order to see the most refined and natural results when applying basic makeup to tinted makeup.”

Out of all the beautiful girl group members, miss A’s Suzy has been chosen as the fairest of them all.

From May 8 to 12, Panel Now, run by Research Panel Korea, an online research company, held a poll on who is the prettiest of the prettiest girl group members.

Suzy took 29 percent of the votes, or 6,430 people out of 22,104. Right behind her was Girls’ Generation’s Yoona with 25 percent and f(x)’s Krystal with 9 percent.



Other members in charge of beauty in their respective groups included 2NE1’s Sandara Park, Kara’s Goo Hara, Secret’s Han Sun Hwa, SISTAR’s Dasom, 4minute’s Hyuna, and T-ara’s Jiyeon.
