SBS makes Dal Shabet ask: "Is my Aegyo cute?"

Dal Shabet‘s upcoming single, “Be Ambitious (Look at My Legs)” has passedSBS‘ review with modification to the lyrics.

In a telephone interview with XSports News, Dal Shabet’s agency, Happy Face Entertainment, said, “Last week we submitted the relevant song to the three terrestrial television stations. It passed KBS and MBC but not SBS. The song passed SBS after modifications to the lyrics.”

The lines in the song “Be Ambitious (Look at My Legs)” that SBS found problematic were
“When will you progress?” “[Let's] go home even though [we're] drunk,” and “Are you a man? Are you shy, perhaps?”

These three lines were changed to
“Is my aegyo cute?” “Why do you keep looking at the clock?” and “Look at me; do you even like me?"
respectively.

Seeing how ahjussis and LOEN formed IU into their perfect image of cute and adorable little sister before Eunhyuk got there pretty much sums up the creepiness SK media enforces on the imagery of docile women.

Being mixed Japanese/Chinese/Vietnamese, I have noticed from all 3 that back home there's this gross mentality of wanting a virginal innocent girl, and that a girl who isn't one is just used goods and disgusting.

It's crazy cause the ones with money actually go out to Asia to arrange marriages with women back home looking to escape their country to achieve this. Like when I was straight out of high school, my parents took me with them to visit family in Vietnam, in a coffee shop there was this elderly American who was being arranged with a girl my age and was promised she'd be docile and quiet. I was just grossed out and disturbed by the whole thing.

Ugh those are the freaking worst. My mom works in a hospital in the employee health dept so all new employees have to go through them get a physical etc. well long story short one of the physicals was for a new hire and she was like 18-19 and this was one of the few jobs that would hire her while her citizenship was being processed and her husband was like 45-50 and it was so gross. She was so sweet and to basically know she had been bought to be that assholes life and how common it is freaks me out cause these girls deserve so much better

Second true story: While I was in my mother's hometown in Vietnam later on that trip, I'm like noticeably American due to being light skinned and clothing, so while I was walking by myself to meet up with my parents, this old woman called over to me and tried to offer me this girl who looked like she was probably 15-16 tops. I just got so angry I yelled at her in public in Vietnamese, threw her a dollar, and stormed off while people stared.

Like you hear these things, but to actually see it firsthand is just... idk.

lmfao one of the reasons why yg doesn't bother with the other broadcast channels is mainly because he doesn't get as much preferential treatment from the other channels. big bang can do 3.5 songs comeback stages (and 2 song stages every week after comeback week), cl rigged #1, etc.

sbs does a lot to appease yg, it's just international fans mostly turn a blind eye to it and use 'WELL OPPAR/UNNIR IS REALLY POPULAR SO THEY DESERVE IT' excuses when other acts on their level don't receive similar treatment.

CL's #1 wasn't rigged though 'cause Inkigayos' points for digital sales are based on previous week's Gaon chart where CL's song was #1 most downloaded song for week May 26 - June 1 (and #4 overall for that week). So with those points combined with huge social media buzz (Inkigayo gives points from SNS) and fan voting her winning was pretty expected even without YG requesting for it.

pretty sure Beast has a bigger fanbase and their song was #1 overall on Gaon Digital for that week and they were the frontrunners to win that week. I doubt they would've lost to CL on the live voting section due to their fanbase too.

lbr the whole SNS thing is a joke, there isn't really an accurate way to determine how many points should be given, etc. so it's easy to rig in favor. most k-fans and netizens know that SBS rigs their award system heavily in YG and SM's favor (and in JYP's favor as well, as 2PM were nominees for #1 numerous times despite their song never hitting Top 5 on Gaon Weekly Digital)

Except 'cause 2NE1's international fandom in youtube etc. >>>>>>>>>>>>> Beast's international fandom (Beast has probably more fans in Asia, but most of those fans use some local SNS that Inkigayo doesn't count), so there was hell of lot more social media buzz and youtube views for CL's single compared to Beast's pre-release single that didn't even have a full MV. (in fact Inkigayo probably only counts SNS points for full length videos instead of short versions considering they gave Beast zero in SNS even if they could have given them respectable amount of points and CL would have still won)

And 2PM was probably nominee thanks to fan voting (20% of total score) and SNS points (30% of total score). That's how EXO managed to win.
