Hyoyeon and This Thing to Appear on Mnet’s ‘Dancing 9′

Hyoyeon and Yuri will soon appear on “Dancing 9″, Mnet’s newest global dance survival show. The two Girls’ Generation members will coach the show’s contestants as “K-pop dance masters” alongside other notable stars including Shinhwa’s Lee Minwoo, Lee Yongwoo, Park Jiwoo, Park Jieun, Woo Hyunyoung, Ducky (Kim Dukhyun), and Poppin J (Lee Jaehyung).

Regarding the show, Hyoyeon and Yuri revealed, “We saw, in person, people all over the world be enthusiastic over just a dance while performing in various countries in Asia and Europe. We keenly felt just how powerful the ripple effect of dance is. We want to share the fashion, trend, stage performance, team work, and other things we’ve gained through group activities, as well as various experiences and know-hows to ‘Dancing 9′ contestants. For contestants who are trying to become stars with dancing, we will try our best to give them the most practical help.”

Girls’ Generation previously recorded a promotional video clip for Mnet’s “Dancing 9″ application process, which can be seen below. The first episode of “Dancing 9″ airs July 20th at 11:00 PM KST. For more information, visit the show’s official website.

I was talking to MNet producers and they compared it to America's Best Dance Crew and automatically assumed it would be a bunch of crews from Korea. I know they'll be flying to LA for this. The guy I was talking to told me he was scouting for locations.

I'm fucking excited. I know at the very least there will be one performance per judge just to showcase why they're there and it's been a long time since I've had a HyoRi performance focused SOLELY on dancing that lasted longer than 30 seconds. I know as long as Hyoyeon gets time to prep she will fucking own, but I think people are underestimating what Yuri can do. TBH Yuri used to keep up with Hyoyeon pretty well, not quite on the same level but she was strong, I think she's just had issues since then with concentration/confidence/finding her role in the group. I have high expectations for her too and of course Minwoo is a god so I'm totally stoked.
