How can I attend as a fan?
BY: JANGTA
Finding tickets to get into the biggest K-pop event in Seoul is no easy feat. Especially if you’re flying into Korea from another country.
Fortunately, we got your back. While the 2013 Dream Concert has already passed, much of this information should still be relevant for next year’s concert.
There are two main ways to get tickets to the event: through Korea’s tourism sites or through Hyundai Oil Bank. Let’s take a look below.

Getting tickets as a foreigner (non-Korean):

The Korea Tourism Organization (KTO):
~Website: KTO’s main site
~Visit Korea is catered especially towards foreigners. They offer ticket sellers and contact information in English, Chinese, and Japanese.
~If you want to call long-distance, the customer service number is: 82-2-1330.
~If you order VIP tickets, it costs $170.
The Korea Tourism Organization (KTO) Facebook:
~Website: KTO’s Facebook
~In addition to their main site, the KTO’s Facebook also has updates about the Dream Concert as well. Sometimes they also raffle off free tickets.
Getting tickets if you’re Korean (or know Korean):

~Website: Hyundai Oil Bank
~Hyundai Oil Bank is the sponsor of the event. If you apply through the site, you will need to know some Korean, since their whole application form is littered with tons of Korean contact info.
~Ordering tickets through here is cheap at just $5
~Here’s an excellent translation on how to order on the Hyundai Oil Bank from the EXO fans: booking info in English.

When all else fails:
Seoul Craigslist

~There are some people that sell their tickets through Craigslist. Check out this ad for one example.

What's it like as press?
BY: JANGTA
We get asked this question from time to time: what’s it like as press at a K-pop concert? Well… the answer is it’s a mixture of fun, crazy, and full of cameras.
After going through the Dream Concert, we can say the experience is very tiring. Standing up for four hours straight without eating, while fighting for the best spots to take pictures is much of what we did for much of the concert.
As tiring as it was, though, we wouldn't trade the experience. The Dream Concert taught us a lot, made new friendships, and of course, gotten us pictures of K-pop stars.
We were fortunate enough to be invited as press at the Dream Concert. The three person of Sarah, Ryca, and Jangta were ready for the press event. Armed with two cameras and an HD camcorder, we huddled inside a press room alongside more than 260 press members from all over the world.
What happens inside the press room is much like what happens at a red carpet event in Hollywood. The stars walk onto a stage, do a little pose for the flashes of cameras, then leave. Rinse and repeat 20 more times (since there were 21 groups).
Check out our pictures and tell us who you liked from the press event:

On ground-zero:Seeing the stars
BY: JANGTA
As the 6:30 PM countdown gets closer, thousands of cheers echo the stadium. As the 21 groups came on the stage, they broke into song, including singing Girls’ Generation’s “Gee” and PSY’s newest hit “Gentleman”. The collaboration between the groups showcased K-pop’s hottest groups on one stage, one night.
With the crowd only getting louder with each passing minute, the Dream Concert was already living up to its name as “the mother of K-pop concerts.” With the average K-pop concert lasting around two hours, the average Dream Concert more than doubles that, with four hours of poppiness to fill one’s ears.
Join us in seeing what the concert looked like from the ground floor. From fan reactions, stage lights, exploding fireworks, and the seeing stars themselves, the concert was a blast! Best of all is that we got close to the stars, sometimes being just a mere 20 or so feet from the stars.

All right, so it’s obviously very cool to attend the Dream Concert. Where else can we look up into the stands and see literal blocks of colors all coming from different fans of different artists? The concert has always been synonymous with fan wars but this year everything was pretty calm and civil. No black oceans, no fan fights…(Read More)

Wanted to go, but I didn't know tickets were open until they were all gone >.< Too late to try and get a press pass too (not that I know how).
