Currently promoting as part of WonderGirls in America, YooBin recently related her feelings for ‘Pop Fairy’ Lenka through her minihompy.

She wrote a post on her minihompy which was a reply to Lenka. She wrote “Lenka, I miss you too ㅠㅠ’ which was a reply to Lenka’s “I miss you” to her.

Currently the WonderGirls are currently doing the opening act for the Jonas Brothers for their American concert tour and are not able to meet with Lenka who went visiting in Korea.

Lenka is a singer songwriter from Australia and was in Korea for a rock festival on 26th July this year. And in an interview she did in Korea recently, she said, “I first know of the WonderGirls through Perez Hilton’s blog and they were really fun.” expressing her wish to meet up with the girls.

I wonder when Australia will finally get the kpop bug? Correct me if I'm wrong.

I shall wonder along with her too D: It's quite depressing, really, when you're all alone in your little kpop world and everyone is talking about Britney Spears coming to Sydney.

LOL IDK I'm not too into the Aussie music scene D: But it will be nice to hear a little more asian stuff here since the asian population here is quite substantial.

lol yeah. i like australian music sometimes but i guess get the feeling the general populous is averse to pop in general, or maybe the way it's marketed. you know tall poppy syndrome? there is this sort of ingrained need to go to a hotel or club and see an act live when they're still unknown, but when/if that act achieves notable success later on, they'll accuse them of selling out. i read an article recently where delta goodrem's fans were accusing her of selling out based on the number of advertisements she's done lately, and she is a commercial pop artist.

and i read somewhere a while back that in the future up to 70% of australia's population will be eurasian (mixed european/asian ancestry). so who knows. maybe we can change things around here. :D i'm frustrated by it too.

I can only name a few Australian artists I like. Ben Lee? Delta of course and Natalie Bassingthe? My friend once called Australian mentality as the FLEA MARKET mentality. Everything must be indie or bazaar like. No major in your face brands or people. IDK I'm not Australian but I've lived here for awhile.

I'm not surprised, considering the amount of asians in my uni D: It's sad that I can count with one hand people who know kpop in my social circle here.

oh god, it's definitely flea market. -_- i can count like maybe six people i know in adelaide who like kpop, genuinely, and i've met them all online? mind you adelaide is a small town and i don't get out much (clearly i spend too long thinking |D)

I talk about Kpop with the people in my Korean class at uni. But I don't think it'd really work here. We're too fickle.

I think the closest we got to Kpop was when Rain came here in 2007. =X
I'd like some more Kpop activity here too though. And more recognition for actually having Kpop fans in Australia from those artists would be nice. =(

It does sound very spektor-ish :)

I find Lenka's style of music very... commercial indie of the sorts :)
