Ryan S. Jhun and and DR are pleading with EXO Fans and whoever is leaking the videos and audios of EXO to stop.

They are pleading with them not to illegally download the music, because the producers, writers and artists work very hard to make their art, and they deserved to be supported in the right way.

Recently, videos of EXO practicing the choreography for their upcoming music video were leaked, and several months ago, a rough cut of “Wolf” and “365″ was released.

I'm appalled by the album leak. The fandom's ruined the comeback for me. The people at the heart of this don't seem to figure what it makes fans look like, treating their "faves" like this.

Honestly though, the ones who will buy the album will still buy it regardless of a leak. And by the way, the album's is pretty solid as is, lulzy title track and all.

And for real, it's legit suspicious that everything about this whole comeback is leaked. Title track leaked months before, practice video leaked, etc. The music video would've already leaked if everything is in fans' hands, but it hasn't. SM is super tight about these things and leaks hardly ever happen all these years, yet everything has pretty much leaked regarding EXO.

these leaks have to be internal, unless computers were hacked ....and that is a whole different issue. just shit stirring pr stunt with this i feel. if it was about the illegal downloads, fine. but then don't bring up the leaks. the leaks are an internal company issue, not a fan one.

kpop really is a different animal. people purchase multiple albums for various reasons. even outside of korea. outside of asian music fandoms, i have rarely seen that happening. and they do it even when the music sounds like crap.

sorry, I'm a bit high because I finally have an excuse to buy a hetalia wallet I've been eyeing.
anyway, not only in Korea, in Japan too, I think it'll always be the case with idols, especially with fan events and stuffs.
and yeah, just because fans care about the members a lot more than the music.

as for me, I honestly don't think this album deserves my money (as I won't be able to attend the fan event), and even if there's no leak, I won't spend my money to try to listen to the album because the title track is not... something I'd pay for, if there's anything, illegal download is actually helping the group (EXO)

This "real fan" thing bugs me so much. Pretty much all of us are going to buy at LEAST one copy of the album each. I am MORE inclined to do so because of the leak, because I know how absolutely fantastic the album is. I may have not bothered if I hadn't heard the songs first. The medley was good but it didn't do the album justice as it is absolutely fantastic. But I am planning on buying both albums despite the hefty shipping costs and the fact China post SUCKS and things I order seem to keep getting lost.

I understand hard work went into making the songs, and yeah it's crappy someone leaked them (though who do you want to bet leaked them? How likely is it that a fan got in?) but it actually provides more hype. So I'm sorry for them but they'll do better out of this.


The worst thing I think are the fans who go around being nasty/belittling/aggressive to the fans they deem "not real enough" because they're listening to the leaks. I'm not here for your attempt at a guilt trip.

Albums usually circulate before the actual release date as they 1) have to be printed and 2) are distributed to (online)stores and 3) given to radiostations for promotional reasons.

Now, if an album surfaces online before it's store release, chances are one of the people in said places have gotten their hands on it. (Someone hacking something could also happen, but not that frequently as I believe). In Kpop, albums usually don't leak beforehand but it happened this time around.

Look, it's a conscious decision whether or not someone wanted to preview ahead of time and this is NOT the first time SME has encountered leaks. It's also could be a marketing tool used in the industry so the fans on Twitter/Tumblr say whatever bullshit they think makes them sound like saints just needs to STFU. The false entitlement is baffling and that behaviour drives away potential new fans.

Those people make me so mad since fans on LJ are much more level headed but we're not seen that way cuz of the 12-18 or whatever year olds.

I don't understand how this is some massive deal bc when the album is actually released, exo fans will dl it illegally in droves anyway before their copy arrives, or maybe they won't even buy the album at all. Why do we have to police each other and throw accusations of who's a 'real' fan and who's not, like there's some criteria we all have to meet in order to be deemed 'true' fans. As for all the dramatic people on tumblr who keep on saying that if you listen to the leak you're physically hurting exo, pls. Leaks happen all the time (usually for marketing purposes by the companies themselves to generate hype), they've happened within SM before.

I'm just sad that it was K's album that got leaked and not M's cause I'm dying to hear how Chen tackles these songs. Particularly Black Pearl!!!

Albums leak all the time and most of the time it was done on purpose by the label to drum up interest in the album and it often works. I'm fairly certain this leak was done on purpose by SM.
