Watched this earlier and all I could think of was wow they look nice in suits and completely forgot to listen to the cover

And now that I have listened to it properly - I'm still not sure about Sam's voice but this is probably my favourite cover of theirs (and I've yet to listen to the original because 5 year old me will stan BSB 4eva). I wonder what Teo does when he has to wait his turn to record like 2 lines.

I was going to post this, and then I didn't. lol OP Lunafly doesn't have a tag. It doesn't seem like there is enough posted about them yet for them to get one.

We all know Lunafly's covers are fantastically amazing. So I want to ask Omona: What are your favorite Lunafly covers? What are your favorite idol covers? LEDapple perhaps since they do many cover songs in a similar manner of Lunafly?

Fav Lunafly cover would be Teo's solo Impossible. There is so much soul in his voice.


I can't choose an overall favorite because I haven't listened to enough cover songs.

Teo's voice is amazing. I just wish I was better as distinguishing between him and Yun's singing. I can hear the difference when they speak English, but I have trouble when they sing. I think they sound similar or is that just me? As a stan, I feel like I should know them apart. OTL

Oh good. I'm not the only one. Sam has a huskier sounding tone if that helps.

I've been watching video of Lunafly singing to help with learning their voices, but I can't fully tell Yun and Teo apart yet. I think I've picked up a song or two only. I swear every time I hear them speak Korean on the Lunafly Shoot corner on Super Kpop, the only way I can tell them apart is through Sam's translations. lol

they all sound very distinctive to me, but i have a really sensitive ear for that kind of thing OTL... teo's voice is raspier and higher (he tends to get the highest parts in their covers and original songs alike) and yun's voice is smoother and lower in both tone and volume. these descriptions apply to both their singing AND speaking voices imo. i think sam's voice in both senses is pretty easy to pick out, but again, maybe that's just me ^^;

Thanks for the break down! I think it's going to be helpful the next time I sit down and listen to Lunafly and try to distinguish between Teo and Yun. I can always pick out Sam's voice because of how unique it sounds.

a good rule of thumb when they're speaking english is that yun's accent is slightly more native-sounding but teo's actual skill as far as construction/fluency seems to be slightly more advanced

when they're speaking korean, teo tends to speak more quickly, loudly, and his sounds are more clipped whereas yun tends to speak more deliberately, quietly, and has more of a flow to his words

I can def tell a difference when it comes to English because Teo's voice sounds higher pitched and the way he speaks. "Yes, I know." "No, I don't know." lol It's so much fun listening to him on Lunafly Shoot; you never know what he is going to say!

I am SO going to listen for that when I hear them speak Korean. I really like reading the breakdown of Yun and Teo's speech patterns. I do love linguistics after all. I also can totally see their personalities shine through in the way you said it - Teo's randomness and Yun's shyness.

yeah teo is very sassy in english, way more so than he is in korean, and he's always RIDICULOUS on "lunafly shoot" (probably because he gets to speak english)... i mean, he was BARKING on yesterday's ep lol jfc i cannot with him

i'm a korean↔english translator and i study linguistics; can you tell? hahaha but yeah i love how their personalities come across when they speak; i find it fascinating!

Sassy is the PERFECT word for it! God bless the listener and his/her animal sounds question because Teo became so HILARIOUS. Teo talking about Coming of Age Day last week was EVEN better. OMG I think he freaked Sam out with his talk of wanting kisses and showing his collarbone. Actually all of last week's Lunafly Shoot was so totally epic. My stomach hurt from laughing so much.

Now that you say that, I can. I know about the personality thing now, so I do too. I've taken communication classes and know about communication and what it says about people but never thought about how a person's personality can come though so much in the way they speak. It's very interesting. I wonder what my speech says about me. Two things I can say about it are I speak fast and loud. (My family often tells me I'm yelling or being extra loud when I thought I was speaking at a normal volume.) I'm a fiction writer, so yes that plays into my love of linguistics and language.

"impossible" is on a whole other level than their other covers imo because of the sheer level of emotion in it and because teo's voice is seriously something else (his tone and range are just JAVKLRAJVKRJKVRAJKLVR i can't)... i ripped the audio from the vid, put it in my iTunes, and i listen to it on repeat ALL the time (it's actually in my top 25 most listened; oop~)

i made my mom listen to it and she loves it too; she said it was better than the original (which i haven't heard because anything else would surely pale in comparison to the lunafly version imo)

hmmm... the only things i can think of are that sam and yun have kind of been ~established~ as main vocals since lunafly's debut (this is only just starting to change, probably because of the unexpected popularity of teo's vocals once he started to sing a bit more) and also that it might be a bit more difficult for teo to sing whilst he's playing percussion with his hands as he does? he seems to sing more on songs where he's playing piano/keyboard
