How do the MBLAQ members respond when a fan asks them to use profanity?



Every idol has to be careful to keep from cursing or using profanity on public broadcast or on their public SNS accounts, but what's an idol to do when a fan asks him to curse?

Recently a post has been making its way around, bringing laughs with the title "A fan Who Brought Post-Its asking MBLAQ to use profanity"

The Post-Its were addressed to each member and the fan had written, "Please use profanity." In response, MBLAQ's Mir gave her what she/he wanted as he boldly wrote, "Shibal" ('f*ck' or 'sh*t') and even mimicked putting up the middle finger with 'ㅗ'. His reply had everyone snickering when they saw his bold answer. It was a refreshing change from the usual, and no one could fault him for cursing when he was asked to as a request by an adoring fan!

The rest of the members also had their own answers. G.O answered, "F*ck you", written out in Korean, and Seungho answered "S-B" (a shortened of 'shibal'). Thunder wrote, "Are you a thug?", instead of cursing, and Lee Joon brought laughs as he wrote, "I can't.. ㅠ" except his spelling was wrong.

I don't think this is cute at all but I was talking to a friend about this the other day and she said it's probably because some fangirls can't imagine these guys are human or "less than perfect angels" so they make these sort of silly requests.

I can swear like a sailor, but I've always been good at controlling it. I've never sworn in front of my family, and how I rarely do at all because I personally think that sometimes people seem unintelligent if they swear too much. Like they can't think of a more eloquent or appropriate way to express themselves? lol Creative swearing I enjoy. Hateful swearing, I do not.

Ngl swearing in another language can be funny, a lot of my friends speak Chinese and the various dialects and cuss words just sound so much more hilariously vulgar.

I think this might be a common request for male idols? There was a fan account of Yongguk from BAP in a similar situation: "A fan asked Yongguk to use some curse words, but he said that he can’t, and she brought up that he used it well during the concert causing him to shyly say again that he can’t."

In my opinion, swearing makes people feel good because swearing, I believe, is a sign of rebellious attitude. People expects you to not swear but then when you started swearing, it feels like you have control over yourself and refusing what people wants you to be. Nonetheless, I still think that swearing is unnecessary.
