I think the difference is that when he's singing and fooling around, no one expects him to be good so he's comfortable. Whenever (and I'm only basing this on what I've seen on BTOB MTV Diary) someone asks him to rap he seems to clam up, and doesn't want to.

hyunshik is SO funny omg. but tbh i would not want him to go solo, he kinda lacks stage presence and his vocals are good but still a bit shaky, especially now in 2nd confession. which is why i just want them to stay as 7, because they bring the best out of each other and help each other grow.

i wouldn't mind changseob going solo since that would mean listening to his flawless voice only forever, but i also feel like he shines more in a group environment. a 4men-ish vocal subunit would be tha shit omg i hope cube gets on that.

I really like Hyunsik but his voice is boring tbh.... kinda bland, unlike Changsub's or Eunkwang's vocals, their voices are way more interesting. Hyunsik's tone lacks something that pulls you into a song.
Speaking of stage presence, I don't think he lacks that! Tbh they all have it, even Peniel. Hyunsik is a part of the dance line, with Minhyuk and Ilhoon, and basically if he had little charisma on stage, no one would ever think of relying the choreography on him and those 2.

no, you're right! i said he doesn't have stage presence but now that i think about it, he definitely does. he also has a lot of confidence, which makes it all even better. but i feel like he lacks something else, idk what it is! maybe like you said with his vocals, something that pulls you in. or maybe it's just that he's so fluffy and carefree that it seems that way to me. but you're definitely right!

he's just good at everything he's doing (be it playing instruments, singing, dancing or doing awkward rap) yet to me he's not super duper excellent good at any of these?
plus he's still kinda camera shy on shows etc which makes everyone think he's the most normal (while it's minhyuk who's the most sane one :P).
His voice is really smooth, but in a blad way. unlike Eunkwang's or Sungjae's, Changsub has the most interesting voice to me though, but he's kinda shaky. Eunkwang is stable, and his live adlibs in WOW are to die for. Hyunsik is a perfect second vocal. Like he doesn't distract cause he's bland and serves you right as a background for someone with more characteristic voice.
he's like that one really good student who excels at studies yet later becomes a bank employee and lives a boring life.
