omonatheydidB2ST‘s Junhyung, BTOB, and Ha Yeon Soo have collaborated to reveal a special song for the viewers of their drama ‘Monstar‘!
Junhyung and BTOB’s Minhyuk, Sungjae, Changsub, and Hyunsik, who star as members of the idol group ‘Men In Black’ in the drama, and Ha Yeon Soo, who plays Min Sae Yi, have lent their voices for the song “Past Days”. This is actually a fresh modern interpretation of Yoo Jae Ha‘s original song.
“Past Days” is the opening song for the premiere of ‘Monstar’, so you’ll be hearing lot more of it through the show!

Date: 2013-05-18 10:52 pm (UTC)It has really good production values (I care for them a lot, I work in movies and half-assed sets etc annoy me a lot :/), the plot is thick. Characters already have some kind of depth.
Junhyung's acting is ok, I guess it's too early to judge. The girl is fine and so is Kang Ha Neul. Dahee from GLAM seems to play a really interesting character so I keep my eye on her.
I like how the ost consists of covers (although it's kinda Dream High-alike but I haven't seen much of Dream High as it wasn't really appealing to me), and the sequences with them aren't out of place (rendition of this song (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eis2pW6ac1s) especially is kinda touching and well-made).
My fav scene from first episode is this one (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q5J52Z5nZWg) (Mnet uploaded clips from the drama, this one is bit spoiler-y). Scary tbh. Fans are scary...
Idk how the next episode will turn out to be, but it seems Monstar has potential and it watching it doesn't seem like a waste of time.
Since it's about "healing" with a help of music, seems like it carries some kind of ~message~ and isn't only about 'chasing your dreams in rainbow world', but possibly it will get past being fluffy teen-school-drama. Or I am just expecting to much :P
Plus TvN is broadcasting it along with Mnet, and TvN wouldn't air shit ;)
