Singer Baek Ji Young (37) and actor Jung Suk Won (28) are expecting their first child!

According to multiple insiders, Baek Ji Young is entering her 4th month into pregnancy and is expected to give birth this Fall.

A source revealed, “The bride-to-be, Baek Ji Young, is currently in her early stage of pregnancy and is paying careful attention to her health. She is currently taking secret visits to the hospital.”

Those close to the singer also stated, “Baek Ji Young is currently featuring in the cable channel Mnet‘s ‘Voice Korea 2‘ as a coach and is preparing to enter into the live broadcast round, while Jung Suk Won is busy filming his movie ‘N.L.L.-Battle of Yeonpyeong‘, leaving them unable to have a honeymoon right after the wedding. Because Baek Ji Young is currently in her early pregnancy stage, she is unable to make long-distance trips anyway, so in addition to their scheduling conflicts, they’ve accepted that skipping their honeymoon is part of their fate.”

Baek Ji Young and Jung Suk Won announced their upcoming marriage in June last month and previously denied being pregnant. However, they’re now said to be expecting their first child this Fall.

A rep at the singer’s agency told one media outlet over the phone, “Baek Ji Young is pregnant. The couple and their families were both elated when they heard.”

I think exactly because of the prudeness, shotgun weddings are common. single mothers have it really bad socially and economically and many are willing to do things to avoid being one. Apparently condoms isn't one of them.

Not trying to be rude at all, but is birth control (via a woman taking birth control pills, condoms, spermicide, etc.) not widely available there? Or is it just scandalous to take/use? Or some other reason?

Even if it was, it doesn't work on everyone. All three of my pregnancies happened with bc (the patch, the pill and the cap). Now we use other methods and haven't conceived since 2008.

ETA: From what I've read (which is limited, I'll admit), PNP is big in Asia. :/

Baffled that no one is considering this wasn't an "accident".

I'm a person who thinks having a child out of wedlock isn't really a big deal. I personally have no interest in marriage but would consider having a child with a long term partner (civil union kicks in after what, 2 years anyway?). I understand the economical and logical benefits but in the end, a piece of paper really isn't all that significant to me. If you wanna be together then just do it.

This chic seems MAD CHILL though, which is why she probably snagged a youngin like him in the first place, but both knowing that the upright citizens brigade that is Korean society would turn their prissy noses up at them, they probably just said "fck it, we'll just get married when we're pregnant." Underneath all this I get the sense they're just trying to find a reason to shame her, which aggravates me to no end.
