Lee Hi Finishes Promotional Activities With Intimate Solo Concert (+picture)

Lee Hi finished her promotional activities for her debut album First Love this weekend with an intimate concert in Seoul.

The rookie singer held her last televised stage performance for her breakout album First Love on SBS's Inkigayo on April 28. But this past weekend the 16-year-old singer held a free mini concert for 500 fans. The May 12 show, titled 'Re-Hi' took place at Sogang University's Mary Hall.

She greeted the intimate audience from the small stage, "Hello everybody, I am ver happy to see all of you. Can you guys see me?" She continued by explaining the title for the show (similar to her own name when said fast) and told the crowd, "The present now feels like a dream. To be honest, I am shaking."

She went on to perform her debut song "1, 2, 3, 4" as well as the hit singles from her recent album such as "It's Over" and "Rose." As a special treat for the fans who had gathered for the free concert, she also sang "One-Sided Love," "Dream" and "Because I'm Strange" which she had never before performed live. The young vocalist even added in some of the tunes that won her popularity as a contestant on KpopStar "Mercy," "Killing Me Softly With His Song" and "For You."

The small acoustic jazz concert was a good way to wrap-up the promotions for Lee Hi's debut album First Love which made a big splash when it was released in March with the first two singles shooting to the number one spot on music charts almost instantly.

'Re-Hi' also served as a way for the rookie to connect with her ever-growing fan base as well as showcase her unique jazzy voice while gaining valuable experience as a performer.

Some netizens were a bit harsh on Lee Hi and her label YG Entertainment saying the singer was too inexperienced to have a solo show, but her fans retaliated with their unyielding support.

One fan who attended Sunday's free show summed the experience up nicely by saying "it wasn't anything big or special like Big Bang or 2NE1, just a small band style concert. It might not be flashy enough to actually call a concert, but as a fan, I actually liked being able to see her up close in a small area like that."

As Lee Hi's success continues, fans look forward to more such performances and upcoming studio releases.

On her Facebook fan page one supportive post read, "I've been a fan of Lee Hi since KpopStar and I'm glad that she's doing well enough to release so many songs and even hold her own concert. I hope the she continues this streak."

YG announced before concert that they are gonna film it and show it for free, so I'm guessing they will upload it into youtube at some point when they get footage edited.

And http://www.youtube.com/user/npaksj has some audio files uploaded from the concert. But I doubt there will be much of fancams as the audience was so small and thus hiding your filming was probably pretty hard (unless YG allowed filming which I doubt).
